#OTMExclusive 💍 Our August cover is here, featuring #OTMBride @rummmcake and @gfkkb ’s wedding in The Bahamas. 🇧🇸 “I am Bahamian, so we knew we would have the wedding somewhere in The Bahamas,” the bride shares. “A few years ago, we visited the Pompey Museum of Slavery and Emancipation in Nassau, where we were surprised to learn that many of the first freed slaves who settled in Andros were from The Congo. We both share Congolese ancestry on our dads sides and thought what a full circle connection of our heritages and love story, from there we started researching hotels and venues in Andros.” 🇨🇩 After booking @kamalamecay , 🌴 Vanessa turned to her ceremony look. A vintage green truck overflowing with florals… but look closer! Tucked into the arrangements were die cut paper flower escort cards, each one personalized with a guest’s name and table number. ✨ Vows That Wow: April Feature ✨ When the bride wears pink, you know the wedding is going to be anything but ordinary! Elizabeth and Will got married at The Argyle - a place of celebration for Elizabeth’s family for generations, the same place her parents were married - and they honored that legacy while making it entirely their own. The florals by @statueofdesign were beyond imagination! Elizabeth described it best: “David absolutely turned a wild vision into florals only dreams are made of.” There was color everywhere! In the arrangements, the mix-and-match bridesmaids’ dresses… In every corner of every room, the venue felt alive! No notes whatsoever 🩷 Because the bride & groom aren’t cake people, guests were served tiramisu in champagne coupes! 🥂But the surprise of the night came next. A mariachi (a surprise even to Will!) led the couple from table to table through the rooms so they have a celebratory moment with every single guest. At a large wedding, that kind of intention is so special. Along with all of the planning and design leading up to the big day, Becky from @pearleventsaustin pulled off an incredible full outdoor flip - changing the ceremony space to dance floor - while guests ate dinner inside. The kind of thing that happens invisibly when a vendor team is that good! In the middle of an incredibly exciting dance floor, the bride’s father hugged me and said, “I have never seen my daughter this happy.” After 14 years together, Jordan and Bryce finally said “I do”!
