Live band karaoke went well tonight in New Braunfels. It started off a little slow, but it picked up by 9:30 PM. We had some of our regulars come out and sing with us, and a whole bunch of people celebrating graduation. On our break, we had six or seven people come up and give Heather and I hugs and told us how much our show and our positivity on stage and off is appreciated. It always makes me feel good to hear that kind of stuff from people!

We played our show tonight in New Braunfels from 8:30p-1am at Moonshine & Ale, but before that, Heather, me, and Christine all met up with our friend Lori (visiting from Indiana) and guitarist extraordinaire Pancho Garza for dinner at Krause’s. After we ate, Pancho went off to play a gig with a band across the street, and the rest of us went to our show. Jay-Bleu-Russell-Wimberly joined us on drums at 10p, and the three of us had a good time playing through some interesting and fun requests. It was so nice to see Lori as well as all our fans who were at our show tonight!

I was so happy to see my buddy Lori from Indiana tonight! She is here for business, but made some extra time to come visit. Heather and I only got to talk to her for a couple minutes before our show, but we have plans to hang out tomorrow. If you look close at the picture, she’s sitting at the table right by where I’m playing drums. Anyway, the show went great, and we had some really unusual songs requested. I kept looking at what was hitting the piano and thinking to myself that I haven’t thought of that song in years. And that one. And that one, too. So many, but we played as many as we could before New Braunfels closed down the town at midnight, as they do every Friday night. What were some of the more unusual requests, you maybe wondering? How about Jeff Healy “Angel Eyes”? Or Morphine “Cure For Pain”? Or “Drive” by The Cars? Great songs, but I don’t think if we’ve ever had any of those requested before.

Live Band Karaoke was full of singers tonight. I love that so many people come out to perform with us in New Braunfels each week. Everyone is supportive of each other, and we always have a wide variety of songs and people to sing them. We had one group get out of hand, but the great staff at Moonshine & Ale took care of it swiftly and professionally, which allowed us to keep the show moving. We love the staff there, and I hope anyone reading this will tell the staff how much they appreciate them. Heather and I will be there again Friday and Saturday night for piano bar!

Saengerfest was held tonight in New Braunfels for its 23rd year running, which means downtown was nuts! Lots of people, music, vendors, and commotion all over the streets and square. We performed from 8:30p-1a (with drummer Ryan Hall joining us at 10p) and they had the streets closed off until midnight. We had an amazing crowd and a steady stream of requests like “Pink Pony Club”, “Don’t Stop Believing”, “Pink Pony Club”, “Rhinestone Cowboy”, “Don’t Stop Believing”, and “Pink Pony Club” to name a few. Ryan and Heather are always fun to perform with, and the show was a bunch of fun tonight. Our buddy Pancho was playing guitar for a couple different groups during the festival, so he popped in for the last hour of our show, and Heather and I got to hang out after the show with him, which was also great! Heather, Pancho and I will be back at Moonshine & Ale this Thursday night for Live Band Karaoke, so join us!

We played in Victoria, TX, tonight for all our friends t Moonshine Drinkery! It was full all evening long, and we had a ton of requests. I’ve said it before, Victoria always requests the most unusual and fun stuff. We played everything from Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life” (for some people from Evansville, IN) to The Dead Milkmen’s “Punk Rock Girl” (for the staff) to Blondie’s “Call Me” (for a cool couple who has seen us in Victoria and New Braunfels) and many other songs throughout the night. It was a bunch of fun, and we’ll be back next month with our Live Band Karaoke show!

Heather, Pancho and I played for Live Band Karaoke again tonight to a packed house! We had lots of our karaoke friends come out to sing with us, and several new people joined us as well. Pancho shined on a couple ZZ Top tunes, and Heather kept the show rolling while I played keys and left-handed bass. These two always make me happy to perform with!

Due to a strange turn out of events, Heather and I unexpectedly played a show in Waxahachie, TX, with the Eighty Eights Show Joel Henry! We originally were booked for a show in Fredericksburg, but Friday afternoon, the venue called me to let me know they had mistakenly double booked Saturday, so they couldn’t have us. While I was on the phone with them, Joel sent me a text asking if we were available for a last-minute fill in, so everything worked out great. Joel had everything ready to go when we arrived, so we played from 9:30p-12:30a while rotating breaks. It was about 3.5 hours from home, but we were happy to drive up to help Joel out which also helped us out. It was a fun night!

Pancho was off tonight, so Josh Holmes filled the guitar chair for Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels. I forgot to get a picture with him, so Heather and I took a selfie after the show, and I asked Josh to send me a pic, and this was the result. Epicness. We had a great crowd until our break, when something happened outside with a bunch of flashing lights, and a lots of people left as it was going on. It didn’t have anything to do with us, so we played and the crowd sang right up until midnight. Lots of our regulars came out, and it was fun to play all these songs with Josh. Tomorrow night, Heather and I will be performing some New Orleans music and my originals at Muck and Fuss in New Braunfels, 7p-10p. Come hang out!

Tonight was 2000s night at Moonshine & Ale in New Braunfels, so I put on my best 2000s outfit and ended up accidentally dressing exactly like our buddy Poncho. He showed up for a bit, and I instantly started laughing because we were matching so thoroughly. Heather looked great in her tank top and tie. Jay was on drums tonight at 10 PM, and he had a good look as well. We had a ton of requests and couldn’t get through all of them, but we made it through the vast majority. The crowd was in a good mood, and the staff all dressed up as well. Everyone looked great, and I’m glad Heather and I got to be a part of it!

Heather and I did our show in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. We had some very fun songs requested, and quite a bit that we don’t usually get. I enjoy that we get to make people happy, and that our show brings together a wide variety of people. I also love when unexpected things happen like towards the end of the night, a couple got engaged during “Piano Man”! It means a lot that people want to share their special moments during our show. Heather and I want to extend our very best wishes to the newly engaged couple! Congratulations!
