🚲👋 I just wanted to post about how central riding my bike is to my creative practice. The pictures I make are an act of lingering on small moments of beauty and connection to myself and the wider world, not dissimilar to when I tend a garden, cut flowers, ride my bike, sew/mend, clean up trash on my block or pick berries. On a bike, strange faces on my commute grow familiar, and so do the flowers and trees. My practice involves seeing myself in things that aren't me, and conjuring a moment, color, or feeling to show to all of you, and if I'm lucky getting everyone all together I'm a room to spend time together. Riding my bike reinforces that connectedness to the world around me, and is an unending well of inspiration.
My bike is a
@brooklynbikeco Franklin, that I've had converted to a single speed, I got it during the pandemic when I lived in Philly from
@fairmountbikes and it's my baby. 🩷 I've changed the grips, wheels, seat, added a rear rack, and beat it up a bit.
thank you to
@blxxrdxxtrxck for coordinating bike picture day. 🌷
