Some pictures from my first ever roll of film!!
I am not able to comprehend the level of anxiety I went through. The fear of making a mistake or even ruining the whole roll of 36 images. Even if everything went fine, I really wanted them to be spectacular. Because taking pictures in film is a privilege and that thought put me in a spot to question my skill, like it was something sacred that I was about to do.
I couldnt take a picture for 2 weeks. I didnt even load the film. The imposter syndrome in me restricted me. By now you already know that I took a first picture, but you dont know how. I had to allow myself to knowingly click the worst picture possible. Thatll be the only way I could bypass the burden of expectation. Because now I know for sure that its going to be a stupid picture, as opposed to "ill never know if this (me) will be good enough". Freedom of obscurity. And it came because I chose not to care about what was going to happen, I finally did what I wanted to do regardless of the result - I took a picture..
..and then 35 more.
More than half of it were overexposed, out of focus, unusable. But one particular picture made my soul the happiest (first one in the carousel). Its a double exposure image of my papa, potting flower seeds at around 7.30 in the morning because he couldn't sleep properly. At that moment, I knew exactly what I had to do, and I was so confident about it. I clicked his picture first, and then the flowers around so that the final image will seem like the flowers are wrapping around him.
When the developed negatives came in mail, I rushed to only check if this particular picture came out nice. It was out of focus. And I wasn't even disappointed one bit. Its my favourite picture. I realised that even if that picture was completely non existent, the thought, urge, need to take a particular picture is the very evidence of that picture itself. Its me. My imagination, my thoughts and my need to express is the true image. And it'll never be bound by any film, camera or piece of equipment that will immortalise it.
So thankful for my first roll of film.

I have been waiting to post this video since the day we wrapped it up back in February 2023, and it never went live due to some reasons. This was one of the biggest projects that Ive worked on as an Editor and I thank @ithihasam_ for putting your trust into me for this one. Met some amazing people and made some really good friends from this one :')
