I’ve received a grant for $10,000 from the National Trust for Historic Preservation @SavingPlaces through the Preserve Route 66 Grant Fund!
This funding allows me & @jayzombie to scout the entirety of Illinois’ Route 66; building a report of faded painted ads and forgotten neon signs along the route by photographing, cataloging, and classifying them in the hopes to select future @lightcapsules.app augmented restorations for Route 66’s centennial in 2026.

Sat, 2/8 ONLY! From 6-10pm, we’re opening a time portal… the legendary Blitz-Weinhard Co sign, originally painted sometime between 1937-1955 and was last visible between 1967-1970.
Meet us at @mcmenamins Hal’s Cafe, which has an excellent vantage point from Burnside & SW 12th! I’ll have some Light Capsules postcards to hand out as well…
