NMHU welcomed the next generation of STEM leaders to campus today! 🚀
Students from the NM MESA – MESA Buddies program joined us for the College and Career Pathways Youth Leadership Summit, held in partnership with the NE STEM Network at NMHU.
From STEM and leadership activities to resume basics, interview preparation, workplace resources, and mock job interviews, students spent the day exploring college and career pathways while connecting with mentors, presenters, and peers.
Thank you to NM MESA, the MESA Buddies program, the NE STEM Network at NMHU, NMHU Admissions, presenters, volunteers, and State Representative Anita Gonzales for supporting opportunities that help students across New Mexico prepare for what’s next.

NMHU Legislative Leadership Fellows recently returned from Washington, D.C., where they participated in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities’ 31st National Capitol Forum on Higher Education.
Held April 21–22, the forum brought together colleges, universities, and partners from across the country to advocate for Hispanic-Serving Institutions and the students they serve. 🤝
Through this experience, Fellows gained firsthand insight into federal policy, legislative advocacy, and the importance of continued support for Minority-Serving Institutions. Their participation reflects NMHU’s commitment to student leadership, civic engagement, and public service. 💜
