For the last two decades, our lives have been shaped by the animals who shared our home: structured by the rhythms of their care; measured out in walks and mealtimes; quietly - and gratefully - claimed by their needs. Losing the final member of core four - Alf, Wilfred, Giles, and, following a very short battle with cancer, our beloved girl, Minerva - has left a silence we don’t yet know how to live in. We were so young when we started our furry family that it never occurred to us how quickly the years would gather for them, or how much of our lives they would come to hold. I’ve no doubt that new paws will cross our doorstep in the years to come, but as this chapter closes, we’re left with a lifetime of quiet, ordinary moments that now mean everything.
Blissful getaway at @the_treehouses , where we basically alternated between saunas, outdoor baths, and a heroic amount of doing absolutely nothing the entire time (plus or minus a 7-mile nature walk for plausible deniability).
