I had the earliest source of inspiration for this project when I was 22. The subject of Isabella Amparan’s English thesis project; the use of female robots in The Stepford Wives (1975), Ex-Machina, & Blade Runner 2049. Her idea is the seed of this project. At 26, I present it. I was mad at myself a lot. Pissed that I put all this on my plate. Pissed that this was always spiraling in my conscience. Pissed that there were plenty of loose ends that I failed to tie efficiently. All this for no ultimate reason other than, I wanted to. But now it exists, and so it is, ROBOTICA. The feminine experience between bodies is nuanced, complex, and sacred. It strengthens us in the face of objectification and scrutiny. And to my sisters who face ridicule embodying the masculine, or who do not display the femininity deemed desirable or controllable to predatory energies: may their words never erode the essence of your truest self. May the predator find you level-headed and equipped with wrath. Within myself: Although decorating my vessel through its evolution in a manner which feels second-nature to me, today, I find myself more often adapting my demeanor to shake the feeling that the ground is collapsing beneath my feet. It could be due to the current administration. It could be due to the self-induced pressure to appeal to men’s sexual desires. It could be due to mental obstruction. It could be all of it. Regardless of how this fluctuates within my being, I am in love. In sisterhood, it is our civil duty to equip our privileged intersectionalities against the oppressor. Against the power that oversteps boundaries. The power that aims to destroy. The power that we as humans must hold accountable. I may regret not photographing more of myself in my twenties by the time that I am 80, but I will forever be grateful that I got to document this milestone thanks to @little_den_studio Beyond proud and thankful for my dancers & supporting roles. Thank you to my dramaturg, musician, VFX artist, PCA, photographers, funders, and ticket takers. For all of these moments in this realm of existence. I lay this project to rest for the time being. Until later, ROBOTICA 2025 ♀️🦾

-And just like that, ROBOTICA has completed its circuit- Thank you to everyone who came to the show snd supported these amazing artists and myself. Over a year apart of this process and so many beautiful, transformative moments I have got to witness and share coming together for such an important cause and message. For centuries, women, queer folk, and trans folk have had to make themselves smaller, bend and adapt, face violence and carelessness, live in fear or shame for the words and actions of many people who are too afraid of love and who think money, power, fame, and greed is what will make them happy. This world has lived too long for war and winning, ego and pride, playing a dangerous game in which the feminine pays the price. We are lacking sacred sisterhood. Everybody talks about brotherhood as if it were the ultimate unity and then suffer from not having a true sacred sisterhood with the women around them. I wish more people realized that if only they educated themself, learned, and listened more and made efforts to change their ways, they would find greater balance harmony, and peace within themselves, and in their relationships. The struggle for equality means equity. I am so grateful to each and every one of these bots and to Esteban @licensedputo for creating this space of catharsis and sacred sisterhood. We are lacking sacred ties so deeply. Learn what it means to hold space for others and meet people where they are at whether that is stepping back or rising up. In a world where brainwashed zombie vampire people are making murderous and hateful decisions on behalf of millions, our voices and our stories matter more than anything. We must challenge our thought processes and challenge those around us to lead with more compassion and less policing. But also we need to challenge others to love themselves more, to stop living in fear, to feel empowered through taking responsibility and being accountable for their lives and for those who are most vulnerable around them. Protect others and get to know people. Be brave.

robótica - 2025 first, thank u Esteban for trusting all of the dolls and myself with your vision. this show and everyone involved has taught me how to own my womanhood in a very tumultuous time of my life. nothing is ever permanent but my love for the bots will be come see us this weekend, oct. 24th and 25th 7pm at the third st. theatre in phx center for the arts🤖

Reinterpreting depictions of female robots in Science Fiction films, ROBOTICA is an evening-length dance project confronting the influence of predatory masculinity over feminine bodies. Tread through the testing facilities where the fembots dwell. Experience an array of lights, props, and sound design, developing the realms in which these vessels operate. The full premiere of this project has experienced a couple of setbacks over the last 2 years. I am proud to finally announce, ROBOTICA, premiering October 24 & 25 at Phoenix Center for the Arts.
