For Valentine’s Day, we built a dirty reading list with our friends at @forloveandlemons 🥀 We also made a little lingerie bag which can double as a single book bag 🪽Our list of literary erotica includes narrative fiction about love, desire, intimacy; theory about our relationship to the body; poetry for heartbreak - the angry kind. And of course, we’ve included a few titles you’ll find in the banned books section — each rejected, at the time they were initially published, for being too provocative, too obscene. It’s important to us that we note: most of these books are much older than we are and many are translations. We built it this way to acknowledge that eroticism is and has always been an important entry point into art, literature, and everything else. Enjoy 🏹

Having @chloezhao and @maggieofarrellofficial on to discuss Hamnet - both the book and film - was a true honor. We are still crying. Please go watch. Full conversation on libraryscience.net 🥀 Cover image by Agata Grzybowska
we are revisiting Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet this month in honor of Chloé Zhao’s new, soul crushing adaptation. We will be releasing a conversation with Maggie and Chloé later this week 🫂 It is a really special experience to read the book before you watch the film. Both bring you into the trenches of grief in a way that is so delicate, your heart just kind of keeps breaking over and over. To our fellow masochists, enjoy 🪴
