Today World Health Day, public libraries are supporting health and wellbeing in communities across Ireland through the Radon Monitor Loan Scheme.
From participating libraries, library members can borrow a digital radon monitor — just like a book — and take a simple first step to understand radon levels in their home.
Thanks to the @epaireland for partnering with us for this important initiative.

They chatted about Easter being a great time to introduce children to books, and visit the local library to find the great collections and fun activities it has to offer children free of charge. Building a love of books with children can last well beyond the holidays.

📚 One day to go until Ireland Reads Day!
As we countdown to tomorrow’s national celebration of reading, the Irish Examiner is shining a light on the people who bring Ireland’s libraries to life — our librarians.
This wonderful feature with librarian Rosemary Gaynor explores the passion, dedication, and community spirit that librarians bring to their work every single day. From recommending the perfect book to supporting learning, creativity, and wellbeing, they play a vital role in making our libraries welcoming spaces for everyone.
📖 Whether you’re a lifelong reader or just reconnecting with books, tomorrow is the perfect day to Get Lost in a Good Book.
💚 Join the conversation, visit your local library, and celebrate the people who inspire a love of reading across the country.
