5. Nollie flip off Blubba - āThe HSS Videoā
This was so challenging. Timing and weight distribution had to be precise not to get pitched forward during the nollie motion. The surface of blubba also starts to dip down at the end where you come off adding a little extra trickiness.
4. Kickflip Bs Smith Varial Heel - āContinuumā
The old Jersey City foundation spot was so fun. Weād make it a full day trip filming there. I remember getting there early and breaking my board on the first line. With no extra deck, everyone locked in, I went solo to
@njskateshop Jersey City location for a new deck. I was 17 and such a shitty driver. Iād have friends drive us around in my car back then, so my trek alone to the city was horrendous. To lower my stress, I kept telling myself this will be worth it, gonna do the best trick Iāve ever done when I get back. Finally, I made it back by the seat of my pants. Trick was unplanned, a great session with everyone led to it.
3. Fs Bigspin Verizon Bank - āLiam McCabe Re-Editā
For years, my friend Evan wanted to film me do a quick-foot clip here. My original idea was to do fs bigspin into fs half cab flip. Actually being there and testing that for a few attempts felt ridiculous. Glad I listened to Evan and simplified to a FS half cab. Best feeling trick Iāve ever rolled away from.
2. Kickflip cathedral double set - āSuppyā
This took two visits. First one was in 2018. Mustāve stuck it 7 times, fully exploding & eating shit. You have to go as fast as you can to clear it. Second visit was next year. I hadnāt been skating much, so it was kind of an outlandish claim. I convinced my friends to make the trip up. Wasnāt too promising. Botched the first two attempts, then got the boot by security on the third. Ended up being what I needed to commit. Made it happen that go.
1. Front Shuv Fs Smith at Sylmar - āMag Minuteā
Iād done some fs shuv lips and a fs shuv fifty down a handrail prior. This was the next progression I wanted to check off. Believe it was a NBD down a handrail. Still might be the only one done. For that, Iām proud.
