FILMER TOP 5: We asked
@dylan_holderness for his favorite clips from ‘HSS 4’ with mini backstories.
5. Chris Zack (
@chriszack ) - Bump to Front 50-50
Chris and I saw this rail one night driving around after eating at a diner in Queens. I think we had tried skating something beforehand, but we hadn’t planned on this spot. We got the generator on and he just started getting used to the bump. I remember there being a lot going on between the generator noise, the spot is right next to the train overhead, and someone in the apartment buildings across the street was not hyped on us skating. It was kind of a rushed blur towards the end but I know Chris did it at least twice and we liked this last one with the angle in front of the 50-50. It ended up being his last trick in the HSS 4 part.
4. Liam McCabe (
@liammccabe )- Back Bigspin Pivot Fakie
This was a fun day linking up with some friends in New Jersey, and this spot in particular is something you don’t come by everyday. Everyone was getting tricks on it, and then Liam started trying the back bigspin into pivot. He’s got quick feet and a lot of control with the back bigspins, plus the ability to pivot to fakie on the spot really made it all come together. I think it was just a matter of it locking in right on the pivot and he just did the first one to fakie right into taking a seat on the couch. I think his reaction after really says it all.
