'She says to me, ‘Mama, I want to play. I want toys.’ She wants something nice, but wherever we go, we end up leaving everything behind.'
Yasmin is 33 years old. She has two children and a husband who is displaced in another part of Gaza with his elderly aunt. Originally from Al-Jurn, she is now displaced in Al Masri camp. Her youngest child was born in the camp.
She received medical and psychological support from Caritas. Her story is one of incredible hardship and fortitude in the face of genocide, the siege of Gaza, sustained attacks from the Israeli military on Gaza’s civilian population, and the fluctuating conditions of exposure in the camp.
