Basqueria is a short documentary and portrait piece. Basqueria follows a true Renaissance Man who has done a myriad of things - farming, bullfighting, acting, law - but, in the end, always found himself drawn back to cooking the food of his culture.
Growing up in the Basque region of France, Sebastian felt like a foreigner in his own home. In Paris, he was antagonized for his accent. Later, in New York, he felt the chill of the winter and the grid of the streets too confining. Now, he has migrated to sunny Los Angeles, where he finds comfort in coastal views, beaches & agriculture.
Through his cooking, Sebastien has brought the Basque country to Malibu. He coined the term “table-to-farm” and intends to bring people together over communal servings of Paella and traditional Basque cheesecake. While food is integral to Sebastien’s story, we will also explore forgotten Malibu history as he opens his first basque-inspired storefront in historic Malibu.
As mentioned previously, Basqueria is the first in a series of short documentaries that aim to connect the viewer with unique and boundary-pushing artists throughout LA. Through your support, we will be able to make episodic short films that shed light on the culture and people of Los Angeles.

I got to make a movie with my best friends and here are some stills from it.
I can’t believe how many kind and talented people I am surrounded by.
Making this was one of the best and most exhausting experiences of my life and the only reason we made it to the finish line was because of the truly incredible, smart, hard-working, silly, amazingly talented team of people beside me. Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone. I love u all 🥺
1 YEAR OF LOUIEEEE!! Trying to remember what I talked about and what my personality / camera roll was like before this lil dude plopped into my life… can’t remember! I love loulou. Lil guy. He forced me to like cuddling and now I’m addicted. Never met anyone who could snuggle into a crevice like this guy. If you want lessons on that we can set up a meeting. He is my lil sidekick. Soon I’ll get him to answer my emails for me. But until then I’m his slave (feed salmon + brisk walks or he will yell at me). Happy approximate 3rd birthday and 1 year gotcha day to the little piglet Louie ❤️
