📽️Outside the Lines - Short Films Screening and Collage Workshop

Join us for a screening and collage workshop in celebration of creative practices that defy expectations.
For the first hour of the session, we’ll be screening a number of films made by and in association with @thealbanyse8 Meet Meet Me At club and their partner organisation @entelechyarts , including a film about Entelechy Arts Associate Director Hannah’s dance practice as a non-verbal wheelchair user, a Meet Me At member’s exhibition of his prolific paintings, and some fascinating Entelechy archive footage. We’ll also be screening artist Helena Appio’s A Portrait of Mr Pink - a short film about the man behind everyone’s favourite house on Loampit Hill. The film screenings will be followed by a chance to chat with the film directors, before embarking on a collage workshop lead by Sarah Bhandari, where you’ll be able to produce your own work of art in response to the films!

What does a creative life sound like when you listen back? 🎶
Join authors Lloyd Bradley, Dan Hancox (@danhancox ) and Emma Warren (@_emmalwarren_ ) for an in‑conversation panel exploring how music shaped their teenage years and led them to their creative paths. Through stories and shared listening, they’ll be playing tracks they’ve personally chosen — charting the sounds, scenes and moments that influenced their work, politics and cultural thinking.

A visual tour through the London Community Video Archive’s ( @the_lcva ) footage from Albany Video, including film Beyond Our Ken, lead by filmmaker and researcher Edward Webb-Ingall.
Albany Video was a video production and distribution company based in The Albany Theatre just across the road from Deptford Library, operating from the mid 70’s to the early 90s. They made several productions for Channel 4, and focused on topics of activism, community and social justice. The London Community Video Archive (LCVA) collects, preserves and shares community videos made between 1969 and 1994 in London and the South East.
