💛 MEET JUL 💛 Seven months ago, Jul was practically a non-swimmer. Jul is 11. He has tight hamstrings that affect the way he walks - his left foot turns significantly inwards. His physio recommended breaststroke specifically to help loosen them. His podiatrist agreed. But group lessons at school weren't giving him what he needed. Then he started one-to-one lessons with his Level Water teacher Mario. Mario focuses every session on the muscles Jul actually needs to work. The progress has been extraordinary - not just in the pool, but everywhere. Jul just finished an 8 week football training camp. He's been signed to play for a Welsh football club in September. "I do not think he would have made such personal and physical progress without Mario and the opportunity provided to us by Level Water," his mum says. Oh - and that's Jul pictured with Liz Johnson. 💛 MEET SUSIE 💛 Susie was told off in a swimming lesson for not being able to hold two floats at once. She has cerebral palsy. It wasn't possible for her. But nobody had asked. She left that lesson feeling like swimming wasn't for her. Like she didn't belong in the water. That was before Level Water. 14 months ago, Susie started one-to-one adapted lessons with her teacher Emma. Emma learned exactly what Susie needed, adapted every activity, and gave her the space to develop at her own pace. Now? Susie loves her lessons. She looks forward to them every single week. She swims on holiday with her family. She plays in the water. She belongs there. "Every child deserves to be able to learn to swim, no matter any additional needs they might have," her mum says. Susie's lesson costs £15. That's it. £15 gives a child like Susie one hour in the water with a teacher who truly gets her. This year, we need your help to reach more children like her. I did the Guildford @swimthenight 24 miles in 24 hours swim yesterday and Saturday. Really tough swim.
