Congratulations to LeVeL33 on achieving a three-star rating in their first Food Made Good Standard assessment. This great result highlights their commitment to responsible sourcing, positive social impact and reducing their environmental footprint.
We were particularly impressed by the breadth of initiatives they have in place. These include sourcing exclusively organic-certified ingredients as well as buying ‘wonky’ produce to reduce food waste, and partnering with D2L.sg to redistribute surplus food. On-site brewing eliminates the need for transportation and packaging, saving an estimated three million units of packaging, while spent grain is re-used in pasta and bread. They have also developed a fully vegan menu.
LeVeL33 is part of Enterprise Singapore’s sustainability network and works with the carbon management platform Unravel Carbon to measure and reduce emissions. Heat from beer brewing is captured and used to supply hot water elsewhere in the business, while 400kg of coffee grounds are turned into furniture each year through a partnership with A1 Environment. They also collaborate with Indosole, which repurposes recycled rubber from tyres into drinks coasters. On top of this, water is purified in-house and served in reusable bottles, eliminating the need for single-use packaging.
