In what ways have you adapted your studio practice in light of current events? How has the pandemic influenced the ways in which you connect with other artists and curators?
As a student, my semester came to an abrupt end. What I would normally use as a time to make photos became a time where I had to finish my semester remotely. The biggest downside to this for me is not being able to interact with my classmates. Being surrounded by photographers and using shared lab spaces has, I now realize, led to my best images and my most productive moments. Forced separation from that has been a challenge. However, it also led to the series that this image is a part of. Even in "normal" times, when we aren't worried about a pandemic, much of our human existence is spent longing for something; being kept at distance from the people who inspire me has brought it to the forefront of my mind.

In what ways have you adapted your studio practice in light of current events?
I have had to make major changes to my practice, as a graduate student my studio is provided by the school and CWU did not allow us in the building except for brief times as needed for are assistant jobs. Learning to work from home again was a new experience as well as not being able to see the physical images trying to decide which were worthy of being printed in larger form.
How has the pandemic influenced the ways in which you connect with other artists and curators?
I very much it believes it has, Washington was placed on lock down immediately after returning from SPE this year and almost all interaction has been directed through screens.
