What is Backroom? Backroom is not a class. It’s a closed session on how creative work is structured, presented, and selected. Moodboards. Treatments. Portfolio reviews. Project breakdowns from working directors and a creative director (to be announced). Small room. Real breakdowns. Stay close. 25 seats only. Link in Bio.

Hollyland supported Lens, Light & Motion by gifting creators the Lark M2, M2S, and A1 microphones. Not demos. Not samples. Real tools in real hands, so creators can leave ready to record, tell better stories, and work with confidence. Big respect to Hollyland for backing creators where it counts. Thank you to @hollyland.mea & @thecreativersehub

We didn’t expect Backroom to move this fast. What started as a small, intimate learning circle has gotten way more interest than we planned for and instead of squeezing people in or compromising the experience, we’re opening it up properly. We’re moving venues and shifting the date to the third week of May to make sure the space, structure, and delivery match what this is meant to be. More importantly, we want our facilitators, Asurf Oluseyi and Ibidunni Oladayo, in the best position to actually give you value, not just show up. New date drops soon. Appreciate everyone who’s been reaching out and holding space for this. We apologize for every inconvenience, In the meantime keep registering and securing your space! See you guys soon! Films commercials don’t start on set. They start in the backroom — moodboards, treatments, creative direction, project breakdowns. The thinking that locks the world before a camera ever rolls. That’s where the real decisions are made. And yes, that’s where the money sits too. If you know how to build there, you’re already ahead. If you don’t, you’re watching from outside. Joining us at Backroom — Ibidunni Oladayo, Founder / Creative Director, IO Filmworks & JoinTheCruise. He sits at the intersection of commercial filmmaking and culture-driven storytelling. Through IO Filmworks, he’s built a reputation for directing some of the most daring brand films in the industry. Through JoinTheCruise, he’s also building a digital content space that curates entertaining, social experiment formats and conversations that push people to talk about things that usually stay unsaid across Africa. INSIDE CREATIVE DECISIONS - @ibidunnioladayo In this session, he’ll be breaking down what goes behind every “crazy” idea — how he sees it, shapes it, and pushes it from a creative instinct into something that actually works on set, gets a ‘Yes’ from the board and connects when it’s live. Ideas are only as powerful as how you present them. This is a practical deep-dive into turning raw ideas into compelling visual pitches. We’ll work on a live brief, break down the tools and software behind the process, and connect everything from concept to final presentation. Learn how to structure your pitch, communicate your vision clearly, and protect your ideas when it matters most. Hosted by Daniel Adewoye Creative Director, Lens, Light & Motion Limited seats. Come ready to build.

We’re joined by multi award-winning filmmaker, director and entrepreneur Asurf Oluseyi as Guest Facilitator for this Backroom session. This session focuses on the real work behind getting film ideas approved and into production — how concepts are shaped, structured, and communicated through pitch decks, moodboards, and treatments. Backroom Session: The Art of Selling the Idea A practical breakdown of how filmmakers move from vision to greenlight. One more facilitator to go! Register to attend via the link in bio.

Unboxing the Ulanzi LM-P40RGB, an intelligent 40 watts portable light supporting usb-c charging with 20 scene effects. This light reminds me of demos we did at @lenslightmotion masterclass showcasing light design and light technology. Thanks to my chief @adewoye.od for making this happen and supporting the light storytelling and educational videos at Everyone Can Light @everyonecanlight . Check out more lights by @ulanzi_nigeria @ulanzi.global

The second event of the year and I’m reminded again why I do what I do. This event by @lenslightmotion reminded me to trust my eye. A room full of creators, shared language, shared curiousity. Light being broken down, rebuilt, and respected. Not just filming moments but understanding why they work. Grateful for the spaces that teach you how to see not just what to capture. Still learning. Still creating.

@ulanzi_nigeria pulling up and reminding everyone why creators trust them. Built by people who actually understand the grind. Gear made with creators in mind, not boardrooms. This is what happens when a brand really listens. Session by the amazing. @marthayaounde

Agbaje Halima @theagbajehalimah on creative photography and cinematography. A sharp mind, a disciplined eye, and years of intentional work behind the lens. From stills that hold emotion to moving images that feel deliberate, her approach goes beyond aesthetics. It’s about control, story, and knowing exactly why a frame works. This session was less theory, more mastery. Photographed by: @samiroks_visuals 🙌🏽
