"La Chanson à Boire de la Douleur de la Terre" is a new installation work of a painted wooden structure inspired by Saint life depictions, comic books and medieval imagery. It relates to my obsession of questioning the concept terroir and the cultural heritage of wine making. It is very much inspired by the Beaujolais, the wine region where I was brought up and my wine making experiences. It is about agriculture, exhaustion of soil and bodies, alcohol and melancholy. The picture here above is a very small detail of the installation, just to tease your curiosity (and also because I still need to finish the work), but I am very much looking forward to presenting it during Prospects 2026! Hope to see you there and cheer together for all the good stuff that surrounds us (like anecic earthworms for example) in these confusing times. Thank you @mondriaanfonds for making me go through so many different emotions but mostly for supporting my practice and to @daphneverberg and @elvisgustavsson for bringing us together! See you in Rotterdam! 🪱 #prospects #mondriaanfonds

"Rouaansekaai", 2026 Wine tasting walk in the city centre of Middelburg, searching and tasting bittersweet traces and memories of the city's wine importation past and how it influenced the western France wine making traditions. We tasted a Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, a Cognac VS and a Pineau des Charentes. Presented at @cbkzeeland as part of the residency "Zeeuwse Lichting".

"Belofte Ingelost", 2026 Acrylic, gouache, oil pastels, wood and agriculture rope. A work created during the "Zeeuwse Lichting" residency at @cbkzeeland in Middelbrug. Inspired by the historical influence of the Zeeuws wine trading market on the western France wine landscape, I created a loose visual narrative reflecting on this topic as well as on the concept of traditions when serving economical interests. @jannevangilst thank you x1000 for your support and guidance. An equal amount of thank you to the team of CBK and to all the cream stuffed bolus treats I had during my stay 💫

APRIL 14 𓇢 Performance: ‘Of soft tannins, complex beliefs and mouthful communities’, Lena Longefay / studium resort 𓇢 program 19:00 performance & tasting 21:30 end 𓇢 info location: nieuwe sint jansstraat 35, Groningen entry & drinks: free Language: english Accessibility: wheelchair friendly nl) zie comments eng) -performance Lena Longefay’s (@lenalongefay ) project “Vinous Landscapes” explores the connection between art and wine through performative tastings, focusing on the relationships between wine, culture, and land. Since 2022, she has gathered research and experiences in regions like Burgundy, Provence, and Southern Italy, collaborating with local communities and winemakers.  During her upcoming Studium Resort, Lena will present this ongoing project with an emphasis on Dutch winemaking traditions and the impact of Dutch trade on French wine. The presentation will also include a tasting of four wines, during which she will share her insights and techniques.  -about Through her artistic practice, Lena Longefay (FR, she/her) explores the complexity of beliefs. Rejecting the idea of seeking solutions, instead, it dives into the messy and long lasting issues within society through traditions, labour and faith. Research holds a strong place in her practice as she aims at making graspable complexity by layering concepts and anecdotes into an arrangement. She creates installations, sometimes animated by performances. Currently, she is cultivating knowledge in winemaking and sommellerie skills, and developing a body of work influenced by these experiences.  Lena had the opportunity to show her work in various art spaces in the Netherlands or in  France. Her practice recieves the support of the @mondriaanfonds and @stroom_den_haag
