This summer we were lucky and happy to cook up a small feast for future institute of art festival in Amersfoort. Together with the great minds of @artscooldenhaag we designed a menu fit for the future that could be held by the ceramic sculptures they made together with @asena_lty
The result was a magical day in the forest 🧙♀️🪱🫘
During The Hague Contemporary Art Weekend, @fabas.cooking organized two enchanting events in our garden where food and art seamlessly intertwined. Visitors delighted in rituals and experienced edible installations featuring playful structures and ceramics.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in creating tangible magic with food!

For The Hague Contemporary Art Weekend, 1646 has invited the artist duo, Fabas, to curate two events in our garden☘️. These gatherings will bring people together through food and semi-absurd playful rituals. Expect edible installations with playful structures and tentacular ceramics, arranged around a central table where you're invited to gather🍽️.
These installations will make you rethink what a meal can be, the food you eat, the time you spend together eating it, how it got to your mouth, how it was grown and then prepared, the way each bite makes you feel, the memories it can bring back.
📅 29/06: Experience an unconventional sandwich bar, encouraging you to forage for toppings, experiment with ratios and to pay attention to the ceremony of putting things together🥪.
📅 30/06: Enjoy a landscape made of cake and biscuit, which you'll have to destroy and rebuild to enjoy its sweet flavors🍪!
Both events take place from 15:00 to 18:00.

Back in January we cooked a three course Supper club for @niceflaps to draw from and eat afterwards.
Here some pics of the starters, diverse pickles and a vegan version of spanish salpicón de marisco.

We’ve been talking about murras-moras-blackberries-braambes-mûres / we’ve been talking about how blackberries are European and were transplanted to America and Asia / we’ve been talking about limits-borders-gaps / about how after its arrival to the Americas, the plant became ferocious and began to act as an endemic species / we’ve been talking about its deep dark color / stains / a cluster of nodes, a single but divisible whole: Units that meet, that touch and rub against each other / we’ve been talking about adapting, traversing and sharing a piece of bread with blackberry marmalade with family and friends.
