Kind of a unique one I finished today for a family member @david.norstrom . He wanted a pen to celebrate a recent promotion, but he wanted something unique. He asked if I could do anything with leather, and I'm always up for a challenge. Huge shoutout to my friend @ferrymanleather who always supports me and helps me whenever I've asked. He sent me some scrap pieces to work with. I cut the leather into squares punched a hole through each square to epoxy them onto a brass pen tube. I added a nice piece of paduk to break up the color and make it pop, the paduk has that no e rich red/orange when finished. The pen kit I used from @woodturningz tactical pen kit with a black finish. After shaping I sanded to 600 grit and finished with a friction polish, it has a nice subtle shine to it. Pretty happy with this one, and can't wait for the next. A little WIP for this Tuesday, got to use my new draw knife today😁. Making some progress on this oak handle for this old 24oz ball peen for @_mlr.rlm_ . More work to do on the shape and a lot of sanding. Started cleaning the head up also, going to polish the ball peen and the striking face end also. Should be cool when finished. These are two worry stones I finished last week, but one was a surprise design for @2a_triggerman and the other was a gift for my wife @kerriinthelibrary , so I couldn't post. These are both a couple of my favorite ones so far because of all the personality in each of them. The one on left is a cool resin piece that's uv reactive with a kydex liner and a piece of desert ironwood. The one on the right is another scrap piece of resin with a purple kydex liner and a piece of dyed burl, not sure the speices. Sanded them to 3000 grit so they are silky smooth and finished with a friction polish. Here's a pretty special pen I finished today for my daughter's boxing coach. Huge shoutout to @stadiumpenblanks for this embedded pen blank and COA and @turnerswarehouse for the Sirocco pen kit and the beautiful antique copper finish. Anyone in the boxing world I think looks to Muhammad Ali for inspiration not only in the ring but off, he's known as the greatest of all time for a reason. And I hope this little piece of history will be cherished by coach because he has boxing in his blood and respects the sport and the people that built it. My buddy Rob @deweyhillsforge hooked me up with this beauty😁. AEB-L steel with denim micarta handle, razor sharp. I've been wanting to get a knife from Rob for awhile now and this one was waiting for me. Love the white pins in the handle that really stand out, this knife is nice in my hand and will get carried all the time. Truly an amazing mail call today from my friend Josh @forage_edc !!! I asked him for a spike and not only would this be an effective tool, its beautiful to match! In the shop today working on a few projects, I knocked out this pen today. Thanks to @pennstateindustries for the slimline pro edc kit with a chrome finish. I wish I could remember the maker of the blank. Its a beautiful most of purple and green with an aluminum mesh. Turned to size, sanded and polished to 12000 grit.
