This teach-in will explore a brief history of propaganda focused on its origins during the Great Depression, drawing parallels between government and corporate propaganda, and reviewing necessary examples of people-powered counter-propaganda that aim to restore our sense of self.
After the teach-in guests are invited to practice screen-printing propaganda of their own. Bring your own cotton garments and print your own material artifacts with support from ITS-IN-SCOPE founding archive caretaker, Marvin James.
This month’s featured screens are Checkmate and Harriet’s Black Lantern – the featured designs alongside a dozen others are available for $10/print in black ink.
