I was delighted to have Ray Burke, Radio Station and Student Media Manager UCC, on for a takeover show last week.
We had a a great chat about his music selection, radio, and libraries (and we ran slightly over time wise)

Ray is the Radio Station and Student Media Manager here at UCC, and an audio producer with a strong interest in storytelling across different media. Drawn early on to visual storytelling, he took several related modules during his time as a student at UCC and has recently returned to filmmaking—studying in the evenings and working on a number of new projects.
After graduating from UCC, Ray completed an MA in Film and Television at Maynooth before moving into audio and a career in broadcasting.
His work has spanned theatre and other media, taking on roles that range from technical direction to creative execution. He’s also organised countless gigs and live-streamed events, driven by a long-standing passion for music and the punk/DIY ethos.

Wired 99.9FM and The Record Room in association with WAV Mastering, are thrilled to announce the release of a brand-new compilation record featuring some of Limerick’s most exciting artists recorded here at the Record Room.
During the summer of 2023, the Record Room was host to a series of free live gigs. These curated gigs were recorded and engineered by local producers, and perfectly captures a series of mind-blowing performances that will live long in people’s memories. One track was selected from individual sets, which amplifies the vibrant live energy of each of the included artists.
Featured artists are: Anna’s Anchor, TA Narrative, Hazey Haze, 50 Foot Woman, Laura Duff, SWEETS, The Low Field, Dylan Flynn & the Dead Poets, Small Church, Strange Boy, Paddy Mulcahy, Post Punk Podge & The Technohippies and The Personal Vanity Project.
The record will be launched from 4-8pm on Sunday the 17th of December at the Commercial, and it will be released on a strictly limited vinyl only print that will be available exclusively from the venue from this date on. Tune into Wired 99.9FM over the coming weeks to hear exclusive plays from the album.
