Ćevapi Tour 2026, to my second home 🇭🇷 for a milestone birthday. Random photo drop of some lovely people and a beautiful wife taken on a digital disposable camera. Because that’s a thing now. Bringing back a rogue finger appearing in photos. I’m here for it.
2026: The year we have turned 10 years old.
What started in 2016 as a small idea has grown into a community that means a lot to a lot of people.
In a city as big as London, having a place to train, connect, and find people on your wavelength is powerful.
That’s what Shapesmiths has become. 🧡
10 years in and still building.
HYROX is booming.
In May 2025 around 12,500 people took on London HYROX. By December that number was closer to 40,000.
So the question for CrossFit gyms and affiliate owners alike becomes simple. What does this mean for us?
I wrote a short piece exploring how and why it may actually strengthen our affiliates, and a little about how we are approaching it at Shapesmiths initially.
Short version.
HYROX is not a replacement.
It is one very valid expression of fitness.

I’ll keep this short. Today is one of the saddest days of my life. For the past 9 years and 3 months exactly, Bear was the best dog. Everyone who has ever met him would agree. He was an element of consistency and responsibility in my life that has been so important to me. Today we had to say goodbye. I’ve so many amazing memories. I’ll cherish every one.
Love you buddy. 🐻
If you see me around, please don’t mention the big lad for a little while. Keen not to end up a puddle x
Yesterday we ran a sales workshop for the team @crossfitshapesmiths .
We spent time rebuilding their sales process; keeping what already worked and tightening the moments that felt “awkward” and “pushy”.
What stood out most wasn’t a lack of skill or effort.
It was super passionate people that had a confidence gap appear when the conversation shifted from coaching to “closing”.
So we worked on that.
Simple, honest frameworks.
Real-world objections handling.
The mindset that selling isn’t pushing: it’s helping someone decide on a better future self.
By the end of the day, the team weren’t doing anything radically new but they were doing it with more clarity, conviction and confidence.
If you run a gym and want your team to feel as comfortable talking memberships as they do coaching classes, this kind of work changes everything.
Massive thanks to @leesteggles & @crossfitshapesmiths team for inviting us to spend the day with them!
I was listening to Rory Sutherland talk about value and he mentioned “Cost Per Entertainment Hour”. It got me thinking…it’s a good way to reframe the perception that @crossfit is expensive!
A ‘frequent flyer’ @crossfitshapesmiths membership can work out at around £8 per hour. That’s £8 for world-class coaching, an hour that leaves you feeling better, fitter, sharper, will positively impact your health and probably (nope…definitely) you’ll collect a few mates along the way.
Compare that to a night out in London, a gig, or dinner and drinks… and it’s clear it’s not bad value for something that actually improves your life.
How you choose to spend your hours and your money is up to you. But the value in a CrossFit gym membership won’t just be felt in your bank account. It will be felt in all areas of your life! Spread the word!
[PS we ALL know a ‘night out with mates’ can go from 0-200mph 🚀 in terms of cost when you least expect it!]
