Premiering in #capetown !! Three internationally acclaimed artists - Maya Zbib @mayazbib (theatre, Lebanon), Lee Serle (dance, Australia) and Mateo López @vemirave (visual arts, Colombia) - unite in a unique creative collaboration to present Listening to Walls Wear Off Their Colour, for three performances only. Blending movement, narration and performance, this evocative work explores how we find moments of connection and reflection in a world marked by displacement, isolation and constant change. Presented by the Baxter Theatre @baxtertheatre , in partnership with the Rolex Perpetual Arts Initiative, Zbib and Serle will perform alongside two South African dancers - Lorin Sookool @koolsokool and Grant Van Ster @vanstergrant in a shifting landscape of stories and bodies - where individual journeys intertwine to reveal a powerful collective narrative.

Zoukak Theatre presents Three Verses of Solitude A performance by Maya Zbib, Lee Serle, Ben Frost and Zoukak Collective Three Verses of Solitude is an immersive performance that contemplates solitude as both a personal refuge and a shared condition, especially during war. Inspired by the contemplative stillness of the Rothko Chapel, the work offers a gentle space for reflection and quiet renewal. It traces the emotional spectrum from solitude to loneliness, carrying echoes of pandemic confinement and the intimate quiet of early motherhood. Through this lens, it invites viewers to pause and notice the delicate gestures of being alone together; to find warmth in distance and beauty in slowing down. It meditates on solitude not as absence, but as possibility: a space for imagination and transformation.
