🔴 RISE ’76: THE STORY OF JUNE 16TH OPENING TONIGHT IN THE BAXTER STUDIO
Drawing on testimonies from over 40 individuals, alongside archival material, literature and public record, Rise ’76 reimagines June 16 not only as a day of protest, but as a lived, intimate experience one marked by courage, confusion and collective awakening.
At its heart, the play reflects on how history is made: in classrooms, in conversations, and in the quiet, defiant choices of young people finding their voice. It is a story of resistance, memory and the enduring power of youth.

We move on, we move onto the next so easily. The next paper, the next statement, the next process without the last answer, so much next!... All dry forgotten ink….
🎭 COMMISSION CONTINUA
📍 Masambe Theatre, Baxter Theatre Centre
2–13 June | Limited run. Book now on Webtickets
First day of rehearsals for Constellations began with a table, a script, and the quiet electricity that always sits in a room before a story is spoken aloud for the first time.
The read-through brought the world of Constellations (Nick Payne play) into focus in a very human way: shifting possibilities, repeated moments, and the delicate unraveling of connection and chance. Hearing it aloud for the first time revealed just how precise and playful the writing is, and how much space it leaves for discovery.
There is something special about this stage of the process, where everything is still open and every choice feels like it matters. The work has officially begun.

Die Ander Dogter at Suidoosterfees
Lara Foot directs "Die Ander Dogter" (Sandra Prinsloo) A powerful and intimate production at this year’s Suidoosterfees, starring the legendary Sandra Prinsloo.
Based on Annie Ernaux’s L’autre fille, this deeply moving work explores memory, grief and the quiet weight of being the “replacement” for a lost child. When a young girl discovers the existence of a sister who died before she was born, her understanding of family and self is forever altered.
A delicate, haunting meditation on loss, guilt and identity.
