Mara and I first met in 2021, when she taught her very first workshop here in Zofingen. Shortly after, we invited her to teach at the dance school where I work. At that time, I had already started organizing Tell A Story (since 2019), and I asked her if she would like to choreograph a piece for the show. She said yes — and even offered to help with the organization. That’s how our friendship began. Mara has such a beautiful, kind energy. From the very start, she’s been a huge inspiration — full of creativity, innovative ideas, and so much heart. In 2023, we took the next step and officially founded our company together. Since then, we’ve been organizing and planning nonstop — and dancing together way too little. When we organized the first Tell A Story outside of Zofingen — at Werkk Baden — it felt like the perfect moment to dance again. So we teamed up with Karl, chose one song, and gave ourselves a challenge: go on stage without rehearsing, take two random words from the audience, and tell a story through freestyle. @tellastoryswitzerland @werkkbaden @marapeyer Photos by @onepic_oneshot

The time has come to say goodbye to „Zainab“ 🤍 This will be the final time we bring this special piece to life on stage, and my heart is filled with gratitude and emotion. Zainab was our very first full-length dance theater production, created by Tell A Story @tellastoryswitzerland and the incredible The Art of Generations Crew @the.art.of.generations @theartofgenerationscrew . It has been a journey of creativity, growth, and countless beautiful memories. We are endlessly thankful for our amazing choreographers—Granit Zuka @ibazuka , Ariadna Martinez @ariadnamzm , Sena Konçak @senaknck , Christophe Jäggi @cj_evora , Mara Peyer @marapeyer , and Lea Nardon @leanardon —who poured their hearts into this project. Our deepest thanks also go to Bennet Mars for his outstanding work on lighting, Rahel Hodel @rahelhodel for her support and collaboration, Chiara Nardon @sleepinongems @mahastu.dio , who has always helped us with stage design and costumes. A special thank you to our best friends, who have supported every one of our pieces and are always there in the audience cheering us on. 💛 And of course, to our families—your unwavering support means the world to us. Just back from the vast, timeless beauty of the Omani desert, my heart feels full yet nostalgic. The desert always teaches me something new—the strength of silence, the messages carried by the wind, and the profound importance of family. These lessons make me even more excited to bring Zainab to life again soon. This piece holds a special place in my heart, capturing the magic and challenges of the desert through dance. And this year, it feels even more meaningful as we also premiere Perfectionism, an exploration of the endless loops and pressures we face in our lives. Two stories, two worlds, one stage.
