You ever noticed people's obsession photographing numbers. This is pretty much like that. Starting from "zero." We'll see how far we get.

It was a not-very-memorable 17, but it is a 17, nonetheless. . . . #numbers #sequentialnumbers #typography #letterpress #photography

We discovered this “16” on a walk through the neighborhood at the end of our street. We thought it had some character. The "DANGER" sticker has that nice white area with nothing in it and the other white shape with nothing in it. In the end, it fits the bill for an interesting "16." I've got an idea for using our laser cutter to cut some type letterforms out of a dimpled shelf paper based on the 16. Maybe cut a clean letterform and then the screened. Hmmm. . . #numbers #sequentialnumbers #typography #letterpress #photography

I discovered this “15” deep in the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. I love the implied passage of time with the white stain below the building number. I used to take photos I called “Type over time.” This would have been a good photo.  Does anyone know any good hashtags to use for these images? #numbers #sequentialnumbers #typography #letterpress #photography

I’m not positive every building with more than 12 floors does this, but I think the notion of unlucky 13 causes elevators to jump from 12 to 14. Whew, I feel safe now. Photo credit: Joe Del Pesco #numbers #sequentialnumbers #typography #letterpress #photography

We were at the @barnesfoundation in Philadelphia for the Alexey Brodovitch, and the first room I walked into had this directional room number.

When I conceptualized this November calendar page, I tried to figure out a way to avoid using typography. It works for “eleven” pretty well.

When you look for a number and find it 14 feet tall, you start to think there is a strange force at work in the universe. Notice #41 when that one comes up if you can remember it. It is just to the right of this image.

Number 9…Number 9 We were looking for a 9. I was lying on the couch today, watching either Prime or Netflix, when this image of a number on a door came up. I grabbed my iPhone and took the photo. For the life of me, I cannot remember the movie eight hours later. Typographically, I love that the missing number is the 9 and not the reverse.

I love finding opportunities to photograph double portraits of Jill and me, and the Alexey Brodovitch exhibition at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia was perfect. The exhibition is on until May 19, 2024. Photo taken on April 11, 2024. We had attended an "opening" at the STREET ROAD ARTISTS' SPACE ON 4/13/24. We stopped at Cochranville Pizza for lunch. Coincidentally we had table 3. Coincidentally the table numbers were printed on both sides of the cards. Coincidentally the 3 and its mirror made an 8. Ahh, playing on the typographic playground. 8 was the next number we needed. @streetroad_artistsspacev

Read the caption for #4. It will explain the story. Just as interesting to do 2 numbers simultaneously and get our 10-year-old granddaughter involved.. . . . #numbers #sequentialnumbers #sequentialphotography #consecutive #consecutivenumbers
