Look 2 // dare to dangle
dare to dangle is a statement based on the historic mockery women faced during the 18th and 19th centuries. When independent women began carrying their everyday essentials for work, called chatelaines, attached to their skirts and dresses, men ridiculed them, mocking the noise and perceived uselessness.
My collection is inspired by this mockery and is designed to celebrate my freedom and gratitude for self-expression by transforming these charms into actual wearable pieces, hanging and dangling with intention. Embossed metal elements, hand embroidery, chains, and floral patterns refine the historical reference to chatelaines
