Cinema thinks. But cinema also creates worlds. It describes and transforms them. It produces lines of flight, yet also possibilities of reterritorialization and fabulation.
The urgency of our present times — this loss of the world — finds one of its most striking expressions in the two volumes Deleuze devoted to cinema. The possibility of reconstructing planes of a shared reality also depends on how we engage with that cinematic thought, which continues to operate today through digital audiovisual technologies that are shaping our societies.
To reflect on the contemporary uses of a thought that is created cinematically, it has been a joy for us - together with Stanislas de Courville, Cécile Sorin @cecileso093 , and Dork Zabunyan @dorkzabunyan - to organise the conference “Gilles Deleuze. Usages contemporains d’une pensée du cinéma”, which will take place in Paris, from November 4 to 7, 2025 at the @univparis8 , @inha_fr , @lafemis.paris - in association with @centrepompidou
