In a city that is always moving on to the next thing, what does it look like to actively choose to preserve? We’re back from a small hiatus so this month, Gathering No. 04 is dedicated to The Archive. We are slowing down to practice the intentional art of sustaining and nurturing what we have. Instead of our usual fresh stems, we are working with dried botanicals. Meticulously arranging petals into glass frames. It is a grounding practice of archiving the earth’s art, and a nod to the boundaries, relationships, and seasons we choose to hold onto as women growing against the grain. The Village Details: Florals: Pressed dried botanicals + glass frames. Nourish: A shared meal to celebrate Earth’s bounty + Organic wines. Replenish: As you begin spring cleaning, instead of throwing out your gently used items bring them to the swap table. Any Clothing left in great condition will be donated to @shareclubla your local community thrift shop. Access: A pay what you can model to ensure connection is never limited by means. Link in bio. Last night Ms. Lauryn Hill returned to South Central LA on top of the world at SOFI Stadium in Inglewood and reminded us why her visit to LDU is still relevant. During her pop up at the Power Building, she stayed until every single person in that line had their moment. Over 400 autographs. Lawn chairs on the sidewalk. Nobody left. That kind of presence doesn’t fade. It compounds. Seeing her back on our soil last night felt like confirmation. The roots we plant on this corridor are blossoming exactly the way they’re supposed to. Life Development University welcomes “MILES AHEAD” a running culture residency curated by Knox Robinson @firstrun , now on view at 4241 Crenshaw Blvd. Knox is the founder of @blackrosesnyc , a founding coach of Nike+ Run Club, and a former editor of Fader magazine. His residency fills the space with original art, archival photography, vintage posters, books, and a continuous jazz soundtrack spinning on a studio turntable. Including original artwork and materials from the estate of Aurelia Brooks (1931-2021), co-founder of the California African American Museum. Join us this week as we welcome community in support of the @crenshawmile : April 2: 2026 Poster Reveal with artist Laetitia Rumford. All levels welcome. Nike van on site with a hydration station and shoe trials. We closed out ASW with a beautiful South Central Bottle Share at the amazing @ld_university . There couldn’t have been a better way to end the weekend festivities than a proper wine down with loved ones. No guest list. No VIP sections. Just wine, food, music, and genuine community. This was easily one of our favorite Bottle Shares to date, and we’re already looking forward to the next one. We truly wish every day could feel like a Sunday. Thank you for joining us.
