I love seeing the cherry blossoms every year. Their color, variety and beauty reminds me of the beauty of life and the importance of enjoying the moment.
Documenting the performances in front of my lens is much like the blossom, beautiful and only for this moment in time. It’s a way to celebrate our humanity, our shared and individual experiences as seen on stage and in our interactions with each other, to revel in the joy of life in spite of it all. These visual images and video then become our shared history, to show others what’s possible, and record our now.

As a photographer, I document the world around me, especially the colorful, eye-catching and sexy folks in performance of drag, burlesque, music, circus arts, self-expression and so much more. I strive to share the joy shown and experienced in watching these performances, and to be true to how folks show themselves. My lens as mirror extends out to portrait sessions/selfies/events and whatever else folks want to see themselves in. The work seen is ever amazing, thoughtful, funny, erotic, emotional, and a reminder of the fullness of the human experience, in all genders and selves.
What’s shared here on IG is just a fraction of the images seen and created on my cameras.
No matter what happens in politics, this freedom of expression and art needs to continue. Humans are storytellers, how we tell stories vary and the different methods connect in powerful ways. “Earth without “art” is just “eh””. Let’s continue to make the Art, it’ll get seen by those who need it! 🌈🏳️⚧️📸

This is my favorite show to photograph in deep winter. The color and energy inside the space as each of us shows ourselves is in contrast to the snow, dark, cold, and constant bad news on the outside. On stage we see reflections of our lives both sad and good, and we joke, laugh, dance and hold each other in community. I can’t wait to share more images of this energetic show with you!

This week in my artist life, I gave a talk about my photography currently on view at City Lights Gallery @citylightsgallery . These 3 prints were chosen to share the joy these teens have in showing their stiltwalking skills as part of Starseed Circus with the Pride events they attend, including Bridgeport Pride 2024 @bridgeport_pride seen here.
It’s important for us to see these teens and gain hope and inspiration and motivation from their joy and self-confidence to continue to work for better for all-including in health care, mental health, acceptance, legal issues, inclusion and so much more. Thanks to Ricky @rickymestre for all the work he does with City Lights to pull together this OUTwork show plus the video on slide 2, Daniel @daniel.eugene.photography for amazing print work, Cynthia @circusmoves for creating and continuing this program for CT teens, and to the teens of Starseed Circus for allowing me to document their experience.
