Found this note recently tucked into an old novel and seeing as it’s World Book Day, thought I’d post it here. A reminder from my dad (and his friend John, another dearly departed bookworm) that books are, in fact, magic ✨
…and that’s farewell to HarperCollins and my beloved @pavilionbooks . I’m incredibly proud of the books we’ve published and will miss my brilliant team, lovely authors and these views 🥰. Now for new freelance adventures!
I’ve been meaning to post about this book for a while and the timing seemed right, as Ramadan is about to begin. Ilhan has brought together a really beautiful collection of recipes, drawing on her Somali and Egyptian heritage but also exploring dishes throughout the wider Muslim diaspora and writing them in a way that makes them accessible and simple for the modern cook. She writes with elegance and grace, and I know this is a book that so many will cook from for years to come. We loved making the book, eating these dishes(!) and meeting Ilhan’s family and friends, who are such a huge part of this.
These are recipes that bring people together, and I really hope that this book will make space for more books of this kind to be published 💙
Can highly recommend taking a day off pre-Christmas for galleries, stationery shops, dim sum with friends and securing a table in a Soho pub for the afternoon.
A little late posting about this cracker of a book, but it’s worth the wait. It’s the ultimate trio of wine, food and travel, as Bert and Victoria meet winemakers around the world creating the most exciting bottles out there. Get it on your Christmas list asap.
It’s always such a joy to work on books written by brilliant women, and what could be better than these two books packed with their wisdom on food. Tara’s rhymes are so genius and genuinely made me laugh aloud when editing, and Karen’s book I’m sure will be life-changing for so many, and full of deliciousness. The cherry on the top is these authors coming together to collaborate and become friends 🧡
Very proud of team @pavilionbooks as Natural Wine No Drama by @honeyspencer_ is shortlisted in the Illustrated Lifestyle category of the @bbdpawards . This book is a looker! Well done @akennedyowen and team 🧡
It’s been a pretty magical month. Got hitched, had a beach birthday, a little kid-free holiday (thanks mum 😘), lots of delicious food and gorgeous flowers and a party in the Shropshire hills with so many people we love. Very lucky ✨💛
