After multiple sold out runs at the Elysian, the 2024 Netflix Is A Joke Festival and New York, we’re proud to bring back the incredible LBJ: The Play (@lbjtheplay ) to its original home.
A 5th grade teacher hires local performer Sunny Zimmerman (@zimmer_down ) to give a simple historical presentation as Lyndon B. Johnson. The only problem is, Sunny’s gone method. They’ve been living and breathing as LBJ and has decided that this is his one choice to slavage his legacy: with an ambitious theatrical production. As his vision doesn’t go according to plan, the boundaries between actor and role become increasingly blurred.

I’m jumping for joy today, gazing at these beautiful photos from our highly successful NYC run. It’s now been a fortnight, and I miss the big apple even more than I miss being President.

The NYC debut of LBJ: The Play is only a few weeks away, so I’ve been getting to know the city and all its pleasures.
I loved Times Square because it was busier than a hog auction on a temperate Texas night. I was constantly swarmed by eager supporters who tell me I’m far and away the greatest president of all time.
