Tallahassee is adding a geometric display of freedom. Muralist Taylor Shaw, better known as LAZERCHEF, is creating “Statua Libertatis” as part of the The Stacks. Based off of Thomas Crawford’s Statue of Freedom, Shaw’s piece creatively exhibits freedom.
Stop by this Saturday to watch Taylor begin painting in real time. Come experience Art in Action and watch the creative process unfold.
Taylor Shaw is a professional muralist who travels the United States painting large-scale murals that visually tell stories artistically across communities. “Statua Libertatis invites viewers to reflect on the evolving meaning of freedom,” said Shaw when describing the mural.
Taylor’s artwork is one of the 8 artistic elements creating Leon County’s largest outdoor public mural system. Running a lil late on this post. The big ol ice storm in Oxford Mississippi left us without power for a while so I’m just catching up. Nice to have heat in the house again ❄️

I got to visit so many places I’ve never been. Saw so many familiar faces. Made new friends. Painted some of my best work yet.
It’s nice to reflect on a year’s worth of work. Puts it into all into perspective.
I’m super grateful for this life. It’s taken a longggg time to get here and I don’t want to take that for granted.
