This is the place where, after years of what felt like torrential rain, I rediscovered the rainbow over my head. Going to miss 30 Rock—but so grateful to be part of #msnow as we move on and up.📷: @briskwalk , who happened to have his tripod all set up as I left @morningjoe yesterday.
It takes a village to get one newish journalist to her first White House Correspondents dinner. Thanks to everyone who helped me get here (and get ready for tonight), but especially my friends @amy_lambroza , @melissakaspershapiro & @tabrahams , and @hampdenstacy , my fashion fairy godmother.
I can’t wrap my head around this: These are people I couldn’t have imagined thirty years ago in a place I’ve been visiting since then. Life is weird and beautiful. Happy almost 2025. Xx
“As I used to tell my clients preparing for testimony, ‘no’ is a complete sentence.”
MS NOW’s Senior Legal Reporter Lisa Rubin breaks down why she thinks Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s answers in a newly released transcript from an interview with the House Oversight Committee “are weird and potentially troubling.”
Lutnick has denied wrongdoing, and just as with other prominent individuals, his appearance in the Epstein files does not imply guilt.
MS NOW’s Senior Legal Reporter @lawofruby reports from West Palm Beach, Florida where House Democrats held a hearing with Epstein survivors, their families and other advocates not far from Jeffrey Epstein’s former home where he sexually abused girls. A survivor identified only as “Roza” came forward for the very first time.

I know it’s customary for kids to toast to their mother on Mother’s Day—but I was 29, fresh out of law school and into marriage, and still growing up when I lost mine (and she was remarkable). So in a way, even though I ushered them into the world, these two raised me too. I had been a careerist, ambivalent about having kids until my mom was gone, and then, to my own surprise, I wanted one desperately. And still, I am not like most moms they know. I remain incapable of slicing a tomato, much less making dinner. I forget when their music teacher is away. I’ve inadvertently taught them every swear word in the book—and they use them liberally. I sometimes answer their after-school calls with a two-word text they hate almost as much as the word no: “On air.”
So here’s to the lionesses who made me their mom while they shaped me: fierce and proud, resplendent with streaming gold-flecked hair and strong brows and wild laughs, capable of loud roars, and maybe someday, at the time and place and manner they choose, mothers.
A new exhibit in downtown Manhattan is part art installation, part functional library, and all aimed at putting the focus back on accountability and transparency for survivors. Hear more about the Epstein "reading room" from my discussion with @cjansing yesterday.
A suicide note purportedly written by Jeffrey Epstein was unsealed Wednesday by a federal judge. The document, made public for the first time, was originally sealed as a part of a criminal case against his cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione.
MS NOW has not authenticated whether the letter was written by Epstein.

In a “Meet the Press” interview, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said the second indictment of James Comey goes beyond the seashell photo the former FBI director posted on Instagram. Hear why MS NOW Legal Analyst @lawofruby questions that claim and says it’s not “clear to her” this case will ever get to a jury.
