Amo el sol! Amo el sol de Bogotá! Amo el sol de Bogotá mientras se acuesta entre cerros, árboles y edificios vistos desde una terraza con @anakaretac , a quien también amo, y quien tomó estas fotitos con su ojo poderoso que sabe conversar con la luz y las sombras 📸🌞❣️

Desde Dibulla, La Guajira, recordamos lo asombroso de nuestro territorio cercano y de la historia que somos, así como el poder de ver con otros ojos, con dicha y cuidado, nuestros paisajes internos.🏔️🌊 Durante la primera versión de la travesía “Entre el Mar y la Sierra” en el Caribe colombiano, aprendimos con 13 jóvenes que el cuidado real se vuelve acción cuando nos permitimos conectar con nuestros afectos, y ver de otras maneras lo que nos ha sostenido toda la vida. Gracias @sofiquinterocr , @laurrojas , @marunoro23 , @bassaricyon_neblina , y @jers20767 por sostener y dar vida a esta experiencia de aprendizaje profundo. 🍃 Este proyecto fue posible gracias a la alianza entre @vivelacumbre y @fundacioniguaraya , con el apoyo de @libraphilanthropies .

En Septiembre, estuvimos con los niños y niñas de la sede rural Jorge Luis Brito en el caserío de Casa Aluminio (Dibulla, La Guajira). Ahí, nos encontramos y les invitamos a pensar en su camino a la escuela ese día. “Qué viste? Qué hiciste? Qué escuchaste? Qué sentiste?” 💭 Una gallina y un río, juegos de boliche con amigos, café con leche y pan, un burro comiendo pasto, dos ceibas abrazadas, una larga caminata montaña abajo. También quisimos saber porqué madrugaban todos los días para ir al colegio. ¿Por qué, a pesar de que tuvieran que despertar a las 4am o cruzar varios arroyos para llegar, lo seguían haciendo? 📚 Estas postales son el resultado de sus respuestas en la que grabaron sus voces y las escucharon, dibujaron sus rutas y observaciones, y nos platicaron sobre la importancia de la educación en sus vidas. Agradecemos la apertura de estxs peques y admiramos su compromiso con ir a estudiar y aprender cosas nuevas. Que niños, niñas y jóvenes en cada territorio del país tengan acceso a la oportunidad de aprender en entornos seguros e inspiradores para que puedan soñar sin límites. Caminando por los barrios de Quimbaya, nos encontramos con muchos relatos y leyendas populares. Hadas que iluminan el campo en la noche. Caballos que amanecen con trenzas misteriosas. Milagros, apariciones, el rostro de la Virgen, entierros en el parque y guacas solo vistas por quienes tienen un buen corazón. Gracias a @carterosdelanoche._ por la oportunidad de compartir el taller “Leyendas Callejeras” como parte de Pre-Tumbaga en el que escuchamos historias, diseñamos estencils, imprimimos afiches y empapelamos las calles con imágenes y palabras abstraídas de lo que nos contó el mismo pueblo. Gracias a lxs participantes por su creatividad y apertura! 🧚🔥🐎💌

Three months ago I thought this entire roll of film was a goner— my camera had gotten wet during a hike. In the dark, Robyn patiently rolled the film strip back into its cartridge and Mitch did something mysterious to get the camera working again. Now we have these speckled, light-leaked images that capture maizena-covered carnivals, big walks in the mountain, jumping in the river and the sea, loving my friends deeply and being grateful for their presence!! 🌌 y los infinitos regalos que me ha brindado este pedacito de hogar 💌

Ecos de mi tambor [Echoes of my drum] was written with members of @corporacion_cultural_la_ramada and illustrated by the kids who take part in their free music and dance programs. 📚 All proceeds go towards supporting their programs that benefit over 50 kids and their families from Dibulla, La Guajira and the surrounding rural areas. The book includes three videos where you can learn about the traditional rhythms of the Colombian Caribbean and listen to a playlist with some of the HITS ❣️ 50 copies available! 36 pages, saddle-stitched, printed with love at @andoragraphics . We made a book to raise funds for @corporacion_cultural_la_ramada !🪘🪇💌 La Ramada is a grassroots arts organization living and working in Dibulla, La Guajira, Colombia. They offer free music and dance workshops for children and youth, focusing on traditional music from the Colombian Caribbean. They do everything with the resources they have available and are completely run by volunteers who are committed to creating more opportunities for young people in the region. This book, written by members of La Ramada and illustrated by the kids who participate in the programs, teaches you about three folkloric rhythms of the Colombian Caribbean coast: cumbia, mapalé, and chalupa. It also includes videos on how to play these rhythms at home (taught by students from La Ramada) and a playlist with some of the best traditional music from the coast ❣️📚 100% of funds will go towards ensuring La Ramada can keep running their programs that benefit over 50 kids and their families. Scanned some images that I fell in love with from a donated paperback about the evolution of life on Earth. Big shoutout to our wild and wacky little planet :~) it’s nice to love her and be loved by her in return. Pretty cool that we’re here 🌎🌍🌏 Escanee algunas imágenes que me encantaron, encontradas en un libro que nos donaron para una biblioteca que estamos montando por aquí. Se trataba de los misterios de la evolución. Que lindo es existir en esta tierra, quererla y también ser querida por ella de vuelta :^)

Some pics from the MUSE Arts Community Arts Residency that I had the incredible fortune to be a part of last month, still reeling from its beauty!! 🌄 walks through the mountain and a critical perspective on tourism, DIY arts spaces that resist and weave with their communities, offerings to the river that remembers its original name, legends and spirals and leaves stamped with the memory of Tatayamba. Mostly though, collective work and a feeling of closeness, then an attempt to make sense of all our conversations through a mural that was installed at the Parque La Estación in the town of Quimbaya, which is like a third home to me now. Such a long caption, woops!!! Gotta lotta feelings!! En Agosto, un súper equipo de @ensenaporcolombia llegó a Dibulla para grabar un video y un relato desde el aula. Fue muy lindo compartir un poco de esta experiencia que para mí ha sido completamente transformadora 🌅 Estoy tan agradecida con este camino que me ha mostrado la vida, con el cariño y las enseñanzas que recibo de lxs peques, con todo lo que trae la experiencia de ser profe en este territorio.
