EDITORIAL | The art of becoming
In a world that prizes the shimmer of the new, I’ve been thinking about what it means to become. To create not despite time, but because of it.
I recently spent time with three South African creatives, @pat
Pat Mautloa, Ruth Motau and Paul van der Spuy, whose lives defy the myth that creativity fades with age. Each reminded me that relevance is not something you lose; it’s something you deepen. That excellence doesn’t belong to youth alone.
We speak so often of the next big thing, but what of the slow burn? Of wisdom sharpened over decades? The fierce clarity that comes from creating with intent, again and again?
Their stories stay with me — steady, luminous reminders of how to live a creative life on your own terms.

My precious little gift, Luna, died unexpectedly today. I found me and her and she I chose me. I have never had such a special bond with a animal before . So blessed to have found each other .
I'm was asked by my mega creative mate @davidjcotton about my creative process when putting together a concept. Well in a funny way I hardly ever use a note book but rather choose whatever is lying around me and more often than not it is a paper packet. It all evolves out iof this process. @davidjcotton
