From lighting up the night to connecting the city. 🌃✨ Did you know that #LosAngeles street lights keep us connected in more than one way? 👀 #ConnectedCity
Safer streets start here 💡
Mayor Bass and I toured newly installed solar street lights at Rhodes Park in North Hollywood, part of the city’s response to 30,000+ streetlight outages across LA. Solar-powered, theft-resistant, and grid-independent, these lights mean families can enjoy these fields safely day and night. Rhodes Park has come a long way from the empty lot it started as — this is what investing in our neighborhoods looks like.
Palisades, Streetlight repairs are underway on Sunset Boulevard 💡
Thanks to coordinated efforts from the Bureau of Street Lights ( @lastreetlights ) and our task force, crews are prioritizing areas near schools, homes, and major roads first — with more improvements on the way.
This morning, we were joined by @lastreetlights , @lacityparks , and community members at Downey Recreation Center to kick off our office’s $500,000 solar lighting project in Lincoln Heights and Cypress Park. 💡☀️
For too long, our neighborhoods have waited in the dark for the city to catch up on basic repairs. Investing in proactive, solar solutions is more cost-effective and delivers immediate, long-lasting results.
We’re committed to expanding this work to neighborhoods across CD1 so every community has the reliable infrastructure and real public safety they deserve.
Our incredible Constituent Services team works day in and day out alongside our community and city partners to keep Council District 10 well-maintained and thriving.
Thanks to these efforts, street light repair work is currently underway in the West Adams, Kinney Heights, and Gramercy West neighborhoods.
We know street light outages continue to impact our neighborhoods, and we are actively addressing these issues—pushing forward both immediate repairs and long-term solutions to improve reliability and safety 💪🏾
If you notice issues like these, please report them to 311 and our office by email or phone:
