After more than two decades spent mastering the exacting discipline of traditional shoemaking, this collection represents a pivotal reimagining of the shoe.
Here, the artisan’s bench becomes a sculptor’s studio. By taking the foundational rules of the trade and stretching them into new silhouettes, these shoemaking works explore the space where footwear transcends shape while maintaining function.
Through the molding and manipulation of leather, the foot is not merely shod, but dressed in new forms.
This is a celebration of the skill required to build a shoe, and the creative rebellion required to turn it into an object of art.
Dressing the Foot quietly frames the foot while honouring the vision, shapes, textures and work of @being.clothes and @evan_beijnen

The show was energetic and full of life, with a strong focus on repurposing materials in a clever way. The de-construction of items was done in a versatile manner, and there was a sense of support and collaboration among the participants. Overall, it was a beautiful and vibrant exhibition.
