I can STILL get nervous (which is annoying) about interviewing famous people but @thehughjackman was an actual dream. The bigger the star the easier they are. Sometimes.

Jolly chat with @vernonkay for @thetimes about all the wonderful places he’s travelled. Also enjoying that he was spotted in Greenhalghs in Horwich last week, which - I’m sure my fellow fans of Lancashire’s finest bakery will agree - trumps most destinations as a place to visit

I’ve been a bit quiet with the work stuff of late with one thing and another, but back in the room now. I love @fearnecotton , she’s a bit of a life icon for me. Spoke to her for her new book about how to stop spending your life pleasing other people, something I am pretty chronic at doing myself. In this weekend’s @theipaper

Just ten weeks after we lost my mum, her beloved John followed right behind her, as is often the way of these things. He passed away, with very little fuss, on the 23rd January, having held on to look after her until the end. He was my stepdad since the age of 15, not the easiest time for him to come into my life. He was always there, but he never tried to be my dad, even after I lost my own five years later. And although we had many a heated 'debate' around many a dinner table over many a year, we muddled along pretty well together, especially in more recent years. I never appreciated his paintings when I was young, but he really was an exceptional landscape artist. He loved his golf and his snooker, his crosswords and his quiz shows, his cooking and his barbecues – and he created a pretty wonderful garden to host them in. He was my kid's grandad and he adored them and they him. And he sure did make my mum very happy. I'm so relieved and grateful that he looked after her until the end. We will miss him enormously.

Always lovely to work on a print magazine, and it gets rarer and rarer these days. Profiling poster girl of wellness Kate Winslet, interviewing Dr Alex George, and banging on about my love of a boujie sauna, among other things in this gorgeous issue on @balanceldn

It's taken me a while to post this, but we lost my mum on the 5th of November. It was a long goodbye. We will remember her as she was here, in these pictures. Happier times. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all those people in my life who are always there. You know who you are. If anyone would like to donate to the Alzheimer's Society at eileenbrindle.muchloved.com, it would be so appreciated.
