For larger donations, please contact [email protected] Thank you! 🏮One of the most asked-about shrubs in the garden is now in flower at Lanhydrock. Crinodendron hookerianum - also known as the Chilean lantern tree - is admired for its striking crimson lantern-shaped flowers, which hang delicately beneath the evergreen foliage. Native to Chile, it thrives in sheltered, acidic, woodland-style gardens, and is a firm favourite with many of our visitors at this time of year. 🌿 'We all want quiet. We all want beauty. We all need space.' - Octavia Hill As Mental Health Awareness Week draws to a close on Sunday, we’re reminded how important quiet moments in nature, beauty and history can be. Whether it’s a walk beneath the trees, birdsong in the meadow, a peaceful corner of the garden, or a quiet moment in the House, there’s always space to pause and reconnect at Lanhydrock. Join us this weekend and take a little time for yourself. #Lanhydrock #NationalTrust #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #Cornwallgardens #bookdonations #natureandwellbeing #Cornwall 📸 ©National Trust Images/Clair H /Olly H

Take a moment to slow down and reconnect with nature this week at Lanhydrock 🌿 As part of #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, we’re sharing a simple mindfulness exercise you can try as you explore the woodland and parkland. The Colours of the Woods 🍃 Pause for a moment and look around you. Start by noticing the colour green - not just the leaves and grass, or moss, but the many different shades: yellow-greens, blue-greens, grey-greens, dark greens and fresh spring greens. How many different greens can you spot? 💚 Then turn your focus to the browns - tree bark, fallen leaves, soil, branches and earth. Notice the subtle differences in colour and texture. As you continue your walk, see what other colours begin to appear around you. Sometimes, simply slowing down and noticing the details can help us feel more grounded and connected to the world around us. Next time you visit, why not try the exercise for yourself - just a quiet moment in nature, at your own pace. 🌿 📸 ©National Trust Images/Harry Davies

New for 2026, 📖 The Libraries of Lanhydrock presentation invites you to discover the books, stories and historic medical texts connected to the families who once lived here. Through the Robartes, Nursery and Family Routes in the House, explore personal stories of the Victorian family, before heading into the Gallery to discover the 17th century medical texts and remedies used by John Robartes, resident physician of Lanhydrock. 🌿 The presentation beautifully connects the House and gardens, inviting visitors to then take a stroll through the gardens and spot some of the very plants once used in these 17th century remedies and cures. While exploring the gardens, keep an eye out for late spring highlights including the evergreen azaleas. Unlike deciduous azaleas, they retain their leaves throughout the year, bringing lasting colour and structure to the gardens. One of the many varieties at Lanhydrock is Rhododendron x mucronatum, with its delicate white, funnel-shaped flowers now beginning to emerge. 💮 Find out more via the link in our bio. #linkinbio #LanhydrockNationalTrust #NationalTrust #azaleas #Cornwall #moretobodmin #bodmin @moretobodmin @nationaltrustsouthwest 📸 ©National Trust Images/Clair H /Olly H

🌿 Wisteria is now in full bloom at Lanhydrock, with Wisteria sinensis looking particularly beautiful this week. With National Gardening Week drawing to a close on Sunday, it’s a lovely time to spend in the gardens – especially to catch the wisteria at its best. 📚 Our Bookshop is celebrating all things green with a Great Outdoors display, including a fantastic gardening section – the perfect place to cool down and find some inspiration after time in the gardens. 🍪 And if you’re stopping by this bank holiday weekend, we recommend the delicious double chocolate, pistachio and sea salt cookies at Stables Café (open from 10.30am) and Park Café (open from 9.30am). 📌 📖 Our 2026 pin badges are here! This limited edition run of just 1,000 is a special way to celebrate this year’s theme of reading and books - be sure to pick one up on your next visit. They're available to purchase at Visitor Reception, Park Café, the Gatehouse, and Stables Café. Every badge supports vital conservation work, helping us care for and protect Lanhydrock for future generations. 🌳 Our Head Gardener’s highlight features The Handkerchief Tree (Davidia involucrata) - a beautiful, medium-sized deciduous tree that really catches the eye at this time of year. The striking creamy-white “handkerchiefs” you see aren’t actually flowers - they’re bracts, which hang in pairs and give the tree its name. Tucked within them are the true flowers: small, round clusters up to 2cm wide. As well as putting on a show, these bracts help attract pollinators too. Keep an eye out for this elegant display on your next visit. #NationalTrustLanhydrock #NationalTrustSouthWest #HandkerchiefTree #Cornwall #NationalTrust 📷 ©National Trust /Clair H /Olly H

🐣 It’s the last couple of days of our Easter Adventures trail which ends on Sunday 19 April – and we’d love to see you here! Trails are £3.50 each, including Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg (booking not needed, normal admission applies). *Suitable for people with milk, egg, gluten, peanut and tree nut allergies. 🪻 The bluebells have arrived at Lanhydrock and they're looking beautiful! Please remember to keep to paths to avoid treading on these delicate plants, since even a small step can cause long-term damage. Thank you for helping us protect this special place. ☀️ Our Head Gardener has highlighted the yellow magnolias this week. Once thought impossible, crossing evergreen and deciduous magnolias became a decades-long goal - especially to create tall trees that flower before their leaves. The struggle to produce the first truly yellow magnolia meeting all these special criteria has been one of the great stories of magnolias in the last 30 years. Today, Lanhydrock features many beautiful examples including this majestic yellow variety. #EasterAdventures #Cornwall #BluebellWoods #YellowMagnolia #CornishGardens #NationalTrustLanhydrock #nationaltrustsouthwest 📷©National Trust/Olly H/Steve Sayers/John Millar
