There’s something about a Hilton Head wedding under centuries-old live oaks that just hits different. Julia & Ben, it was an honor to be there for every moment. Congratulations!

When your niece gets ready for her wedding at your house and it’s raining… you improvise. Good thing we have a studio in our basement 🤍 But honestly? Nothing could have dampened this day. Photographing Sidney & Ben’s wedding was one of those full-circle moments I’ll carry forever. Her parents were married at Locust Grove 30 years ago and Sid had her party dress remade from her mom’s dress. The emotion in every room, every glance, every hug… everyone’s cup was completely overflowing. Mine included 🥹 Getting to be both the uncle AND the photographer for this one was the greatest gift. Sidney & Ben — thank you for letting us freeze these moments in time. We love you both so much. 🤍

The only way I know how to describe Hayden is a lightning bolt of joy and love — and everyone lucky enough to be near her knows it. ⚡🤍 We photographed her twin sister’s wedding last year and have been dreaming about this one ever since. Safe to say it lived up to every bit of the hype. The way Spencer doted on her all day was truly something to behold. A man completely overcome — and not afraid to show it for even a second. Hayden, Spencer, and their families are a pure delight. I told her mom I wished she had more daughters just so we could do this all over again!

I love our studio so much! There are so many different types of shots I can get. It can be a sweet mother and son (#1) or Father and daughter (#13), a way to remember a kid’s favorite toy or blanket (#2 & #10), how siblings have different personalities (#6 😂), classic heirloom shots (7), and the cutest rolls (9). Whether they are trying to get the whole family or just focus on the kids I love having people over and documenting all their little personalities 😄

Did a shoot for @eeteepees in the studio with the littles. Love having talented friends. Go check out their play tents and parties!

Sometimes you show up to a wedding not knowing what to expect — and you leave with a full heart, new friends, and you hope to get invited on their next ski trip. That’s the kind of day Emily and Walker created. From the grandparents who never stopped smiling, to a wedding party that had us all in on the jokes, this day had so much love woven into every corner of it. The kind that’s been there for decades and the kind that’s brand new all at once. 10 out of 10. No notes. Just gratitude for families like this one letting us be part of it.

Ten years ago, Meredith was babysitting our first born daughter — and we always hoped that one day we’d have the honor of photographing her wedding day. Watching her walk down the aisle to Jordan was one of those full-circle moments that reminds us why we love this job so much. She was a great babysitter, but she is an even better bride — and we have no doubt she’ll be an incredible wife to Jordan for the rest of their lives. We love you, Meredith!

This year marks 18 years doing photography! It feels weird even looking at that number as our company is now old enough to vote, move out and start its own business. We are blessed to do what we love and we are so grateful to the 500+ couples that have trusted us to capture their wedding and many more milestones after that. I’ve been thinking a lot about why I love our job so much and I think it comes down to human connection. So much of what makes a wedding great is all the moments of a person’s life that lead to that day. You don’t get the tears streaming down mom’s face as she puts on her daughter’s wedding dress without all the sleepless nights taking care of her crying baby that came before it. You don’t get that final look up to your dad right before he walks you down the aisle without all the years of looking up to him when you were a little girl. I think the human connection that is missing in ai is why I’m so reluctant to embrace the new wave that’s taking over every aspect of our lives. I’ve seen so much marketing that says “use ai to edit your photos” and “how to use ai to get more customers”—and it all just feels like we are getting farther and farther away from people connecting to people.
