We sat on the mountaintop, watching the lava dance under the full moon. The liquid earth drew us in and kept us at a distance. Its strength and solitude admirable. We couldn’t help but steal glances at it the entire hike back to camp.

I find the creation of an artwork to be cathartic, by putting energy into a physical piece, spending time with it, then releasing it.
I wanted to make something that touched on the passage of time & the interpretation of change. Whether for better or for worse, shedding skin allows for growth & new beginnings.

The Faroe Islands
This was my first time in the Faroes yet it was a nostalgic experience for me. Getting back to my roots as a landscape photographer, getting in touch with myself & nature. I hiked through the elements & photographed during the day & wrote in my cabin at night.
This is how it all began. It’s helped me remember why I do what I do & that as an artist, not everything needs to be relatable or marketable. If I want to photograph landscapes, I can do just that & that’s reason enough to do it. There is inherent value in witnessing and creating something beautiful. You can’t put a price on a vista, its value goes beyond that - beyond definition, beyond quantification.
These images are from my time in the Faroes, hiking through the elements & some thoughts during my time there.

This physical edition of the ALLOY 24 collection lookbook is a 40 page compilation of images across two editorial photoshoots. The book contains two designer forewords with information about each individual shoot, as well as notes from the photographer on creative and physical process.
