Most coffee shops tend to fall into one of two categories, either stark and minimal or warm and layered. At Allez Cafe, we found a more thoughtful middle ground. Limewash walls and white oak create a sense of calm, while the pink ceiling and tiled bar introduce just enough character to give the space a clear point of view. @allez.cafe Interior Design: @chicagocommon Millwork: @landsorstudio Contractor: @haskenhardwoodllc Videography: @elise.pfisterr

An exercise in balance. When a young family moved in, the house sat empty with a great foundation of stunning poured terrazzo floors and a curved fireplace. Yet, the soffits and architectural asymmetry called for creative furnishing solutions. We stepped in to bridge those gaps, softening the architecture with strategic furniture placement and layout reconfiguration that let the home’s inherent beauty shine. Swipe for the before. Interior Design: @chicagocommon Millwork: @landsorstudio Contractor: @haskenhardwoodllc Photography: @elise.pfister

We wouldn’t mind spending a Monday morning in this breakfast nook 🤎 We had fun blending traditional pieces with contemporary influences at the Sedgwick Residence. The kitchen is the central gathering space for this family, therefore a top design priority. Since this family loves to cook and spend time together here, we incorporated custom furnishings to create a cohesive, tailored feel. Interior Design: @chicagocommon Architecture: @designenmasse Contractor: @arkwrightconstruction Millwork: @landsorstudio Photography: @bymichaeldruce Styling: @lrogala & @miscellaneaetc

Setting the groove. Once marked by disjointed architecture, the Wolcott Residence now moves in harmony through texture and material. The custom dry bar, with walnut shelving and a viola marble backsplash, stands out as a defining feature of the space. Interior Design: @chicagocommon Millwork: @landsorstudio Contractor: @haskenhardwoodllc Photography: @elise.pfisterr

Ted, our unofficial resident model. The upstairs of the Holstein Park residence was designed with a balance of Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian restraint. Quiet, warm, and intentionally pared back to create the perfect place to unwind. Interior Design: @chicagocommon Millwork:@landsorstudio Contractor: @haskenhardwoodllc Styling: @cate.ragan.styling Photography: @aimeemazzenga

This renovation was a true labor of love and a close study in thoughtful collaboration, offering deep insight into the renovation process from start to finish. The building had survived a fire several years prior, so much of the infrastructure had already been updated. But rental-grade finishes left the interiors feeling generic and disjointed. We reimagined the home by blending Scandinavian, Japandi, and mid-century modern influences, layering natural materials, custom millwork, and locally sourced vintage finds in the redesign. Interior Design: @chicagocommon Millwork: @landsorstudio Contractor: @haskenhardwoodllc Styling: @cate.ragan.styling Videography: @konrad.wazny

What if a closet could hold your workday? At the Holstein Park Residence, we tucked a smart office into what was once a walk-in closet, letting work’s clutter stay behind a door while life unfolds freely in the living space. Interior Design: @chicagocommon Millwork: @landsorstudioo Contractor: @haskenhardwoodllc Photography: @aimeemazzenga Styling: @cate.ragan.styling

Clean lines meet classic detailing. In the secondary bathroom at the Sedgwick Residence, Calacatta Macchia Vecchia stone pairs with pill sconces, warm neutral walls, and vintage blue flower mosaic tile underfoot. Varied Zellige tile adds depth and a streamlined look to the shower. Interior Design: @chicagocommon Architecture: @designenmasse Contractor: @arkwrightconstruction Millwork: @landsorstudio Photography: @bymichaeldruce Styling: @lrogala & @miscellaneaetc

A soapstone fireplace anchors this living room, framed by bespoke cabinetry, curated objects, and leather seating oriented toward the hearth. Our client’s pup claimed the warmest spot on the oak floors, right where afternoon light pools. Interior Design: @chicagocommon Architecture: @designenmasse Contractor: @arkwrightconstruction Millwork: @landsorstudio Photography: @bymichaeldruce Styling: @lrogala & @miscellaneaetc

A primary bedroom designed to feel layered and warm. Custom headboard with integrated sconces, rift-cut walnut paneling concealing the closet, and linen layered with accents of ochre, oxblood, and viola marble. What’s your dream color palette? Interior Design: @chicagocommon Millwork: @landsorstudio Contractor: @haskenhardwoodllc Videography: @konrad.wazny

The way light cascades throughout this bathroom. Tadelakt plaster provides a seamless, waterproof finish and warm, calming texture.
