Reclamation & Retention Fellowship was nothing but love, laughter, and real connection. 🤝🏾🔥 Brothers pulled up, broke bread, shared stories, and fellowshipped the right way. From the grill to the conversations, it was all about strengthening bonds and making sure every brother knows he belongs. Appreciate everyone who came out and poured into the fellowship. #ReclamationAndRetention #Brotherhood #AllBrothersWelcome #FoundationOfThe12th

As we continue to celebrate a century of Black History, through NPHC member spotlights, we take a moment to reflect on the recent passing of the Civil Rights icon and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.® member, Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. A moral and political force who transformed the mind of America. Jackson dedicated his life to advancing civil rights, economic empowerment, voting access, and global humanitarian efforts. He founded the prominent Rainbow PUSH Coalition, a powerful non-profit seeking to protect civil rights and  level the educational and economic playing field— transform policy and possibility. Through decades of advocacy, he expanded opportunities for Black Americans and inspired countless leaders to believe that progress was not only necessary, but achievable. We celebrate his legacy, extending heartfelt condolences to his family, and honor his impact that changed the course of Black history and continues to keep hope alive. In addition to his professional tech career, he also launched his photography brand, @bakedmoments_ . When asked how his work contributes to Black history, he shared: “My work demonstrates what service and ownership look like in real time. When Black kids see people who look like them leading and building community programs, it expands what they believe is possible.” He believes true legacy isn’t built in a few major moments, but through our everyday actions.  Brandyn’s BHM anthem: “Victory Lap” — Nipsey Hussle #BlackHistoryIsInfinite #AKAFWR #AKATBO

Franklin Henderson’s story begins in Miami, Florida in 1929, just as the Great Depression took hold. When his father passed away at age four, his mother was left to raise four children alone with only a seventh-grade education, surviving on government relief food and navigating the brutal realities of segregation. Franklin’s story shows why legacy matters, not because it’s perfect or easy, but because it’s honest. He reminds us that a life well-lived is measured not in years, but in purpose, connection, and the dignity of showing up. Tune in as we witness how one man’s journey from Depression-era Miami to present-day Los Angeles reveals the power of resilience, love, and never giving up. #uncoveredlegacypodcast #thegreatdepression #blackhistorymonth #omegapsiphi #legacy @tennstateu @southernu_br @lambdaoques @opp12thd

Franklin Henderson’s story begins in Miami, Florida Dec 12, 1929, just as the Great Depression took hold. When his father passed away at age four, his mother was left to raise four children alone with only a seventh-grade education, surviving on government relief food and navigating the brutal realities of segregation. In this episode, Franklin shares what it meant to grow up Black in segregated Miami, where every bus ride was a reminder of his place in society and every opportunity required fighting twice as hard. After graduating from Southern University and becoming a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. (Beta Sigma,1950), he enlisted in the Army and shortly afterward became a paratrooper at a time when the armed forces were still navigating integration. He speaks about the discipline, the danger, and the pride of serving his country, even when that country didn’t always see him as equal. While serving at Fort Campbell in Kentucky he met the love of his life Doris (Bond) Henderson. After service, he pursued a second degree (Electrical Engineering) at Tennessee State University. He and Doris built 68 years together in Los Angeles, a marriage so strong that even after her passing in 2024, Franklin visits her grave daily, decorates their home as she would have, and refuses to leave the house they shared until his own time comes. 96 Years Old now, Franklin’s story shows why legacy matters, not because it’s perfect or easy, but because it’s honest. He reminds us that a life well-lived is measured not in years, but in purpose, connection, and the dignity of showing up. Tune in as we witness how one man’s journey from Depression-era Miami to present-day Los Angeles reveals the power of resilience, love, and never giving up. #uncoveredlegacypodcast #blackhistorymonth #omegapsiphi #fietts #americanhistory @southernu_br @tsualumnitigers @hbcualum @opp12thd @tennstateu
