On this Resurrection Sunday, I humbly confess my sins and give all the glory of my salvation to God . . . On February 22 2026, I walked to the water to be baptized at my family's legacy house of worship, The Greater Mount Moriah Baptist Church @gmmbclinden led by the dynamic Pastor Barry Wise II . . . This step in my spiritual journey was a long time coming, and I must admit, I was intimidated for many years and thought that I was unworthy of this annointing, but I realize now that I was wrong . . . This church, founded by my great grandparents over 100 years ago, is a cornerstone of my life. I was christened there when I was an infant. My mother was married there, and many of my ancestors were funeralized there, including my great grandparents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. I raised my young sons in the pea and have done my best to attend consistently for the last year . . . As I move into a new stage of my life with a more informed perspective, I realized that my great grandparents helped to build this place for their own spiritual well being as well as for the spiritual strengthening of the community. To be a part of something greater is truly a privilege while building a more personal relationship with God while connecting to my heritage and family origins. . . . Even if you are not a believer, please continue to send me good vibrations, well wishes, and salutations. But if you do believe, please pray for me, and I will continue to do the same for you. And if you're looking for a church home and need a spiritual base, visit our church or watch on line @ Greater Mount Moruah Baptist Church in Linden NJ

Im so grateful during this season giving. Saturday night my husband and I attended a wonderful Art Show fundraiser for the Lancelot H. Owens Scholarship Foundation 501 (c)3 which has been awarding scholarships since 1992. Queen Latifah @queenlatifah started this foundation in honor of her late brother. All of the night’s proceeds from the art by @artistbernardjackson will go to benefit deserving young scholars in need. It was an honor to contribute to this Foundation with such a powerful mission. So great to be in attendance with old friends and new ones. Special thanks to @directedbyby @dr.arabiamollette for keeping @queencityfilmfestnj in mind.

PLAINFIELD, NJ — From Thursday, October 16 until Sunday, October 19, Plainfield will host the 8th annual Queen City Film Festival, which will have even more events and screenings than in previous years. The festival has become a destination for filmmakers and creatives from New Jersey and around the globe to showcase their films and projects. It has also become a place for Plainfield community members to connect with each other, and those visiting the city, while appreciating art that is often relevant to their own lives and lived experiences. The @queencityfilmfestnj is particularly important for filmmakers from unrepresented communities, annually touting a variety of projects in multiple genres including short, feature, documentary, episodic, music, animation, faith-based, and more. Here's how you can attend some of its many events over the course of four days.

ScreenTalk NJ s3 ep1 was a huge success as we kicked off the series with Oscar winning Director and Plainfield Native @willmccormack and his Academy nominated short doc A Swim Lesson. . . . Co directed with the amazing @rashidajones this film is a beautiful journey of life as we follow a group of toddlers and their parents through a bootcamp style Swim Lesson program for the youth. Filled with messages about aquatic safety and the importance of learning how to swim, this wonderful film is also full of life lessons that extend beyond the water and applies to bothe young and old . . . McCormack, who is also credited as co-writer for Toy Story 4, grew up in the Queen City of Plainfield NJ and was blessed to learn swimming at an early age. As a former member of the Plainfield YMCA’s competitive swim team in the late 70’s / early 80’s, McCormack’s experience with the water shines through and commands your full attention on the screen . . . To see the film viait PBS or search YouTube and for the complete interview goto @queencityfilmfestnj on youtube.com #filmfestival #filmscreening #Academyaward #plainfieldnj

Last week on MLK day, Frontiers International Plainfield Area Club honored me with the 2025 Westry G Horne Community Spirit Award for my work with the Queen City Film Festival and our after school program the Film Future Club. As I reflect on the acknowledgement and award, I am reminded of an earlier time in my career when I constantly sought out a community within my chosen profession. I searched for mentors who's wisdom and experience would bless me with eye opening revelations and guidance. People who understood the challenges of coming from an underrepresented community in an industry known to be cliquish to say the least... and now I am that person. I am that mentor, a guiding light To be recognized for the work of creating opportunities and pathways for younger people, and for being a vocal advocate for the creation of opportunity in the community, truly puts the last few years into perspective and leaves me filled with gratitude. Thanks to the selection committee at Frontiers International! This is truly appreciated. 📸 by @njphotogirl
