@lahimself naturally came into focus. Close to our community, he embodies an authenticity that resonates with the brand’s vision, a relationship to surfing that extends far beyond the ocean.
Originally from Kandy, Sri Lanka, he comes from a place where surfing is not reduced to an imported or stereotyped trend. There, it has integrated naturally into everyday life, for reasons that are at once geographical, cultural, and social. In Sri Lanka, surfing is a culture that circulates, that is observed, that is shared, even by those who don’t actively practice it. It is precisely this invisible connection that we find in Lahiru. Without being a surfer himself, he comes from a place where surfing is part of the mental landscape, echoing Stockholm Surfboard Club’s approach of treating it as a broader language.
Through
@kolamparis , Lahiru also created a space for transmission, highlighting his roots while bringing Sri Lankan culture to life in Paris, contributing to its wider accessibility both locally and internationally. We look forward to seeing what he does next.
