Last month, The Get Alongs recorded a direct to tape session at Lacquer Channel. The series, under the direction and vision of acclaimed mastering engineer, Noah Mintz captured songs from the band’s just announced (as in today) new album out on Having Fun in June. Come On, the first single is on all streaming services, and the album is available for pre-order now. This session and filming made possibly by the kind people over @collectivebrew
Straight Up is finally out! I had so much fun creating this one with @devrimeldelekli . I have wanted to create a slowed down sad version of this song for a very long time but Devrim turned my initial idea into something far beyond anything I could have dreamed up in my head. This one feels really special. I hope you love our alternative take on the original by Elliott Smith and the legendary @paulaabdul .
This version truly feels like it belongs in a movie so please help us share it far and wide!

I have a lot of passive EQs. I didn't have a MEQ Mid-Range EQ until now but I do have to admit... I bought these @audioscapeaudio MEQ-A pair solely because they are PINK!!!! (FYI the PINK is for Breast Cancer in which they donate the profits to Breast Cancer research)
Vintage Z-Sys digital ala @bobkatz24bit via Andy Krehm (RIP). The EQ in this doesn't sound like any plugin. More like analog than digital. Some voodoo n' here.
Still an ever-changing work in progress, but this is the 1976 Lacquer Channel lobby. We'll be doing vinyl and scotch 🥃 listening sessions soon so get ready to hike up to groovy North York dorks. #50th
